John Beilein is 30-1 last 31 games at mich
Like I said earlier: he is a foil to Harbaugh in every way

It is a damn shame if he retires without ever winning a title, because I really think he is an elite basketball coach

Basketball recruiting is fundamentally different than football recruiting.

I’ve maintained for some time Michigan football has hit a similar wall as other historically elite midwestern programs. I genuinely don’t believe they will ever be a consistently elite program again.

Top 5 coach in college basketball. Teams always play the right way. Steal stuff from him all the time.

Michigan looks like they can win it all. Best defensive team in the country by far

I'd take Beilein over every college basketball coach in America besides K and Jay Wright right now.

Ann Arbor has 100k people, Columbus has nearly a million. Ohio is far more talent dense than Michigan, and by far the most talent rich state located outside of the south or the coasts. Cornering the market on Ohio can get you pretty far.

OSU is the exception, not the rule.

Um Notre Dame and Ohio State especially have achieved more than a&m this decade

What are you even talking about

Nothing about Notre Dame is special anymore. They’re a program that would have average about 7.5 wins per year over the last 25 years if they played in a major conference.

Elite kids from the coasts and the south don’t consistently want to go to Ann Arbor or Lincoln or South Bend anymore because they don’t need those programs to get television and NFL exposure like they did 40 years ago. That coupled with scholarship limits that don’t allow midwestern schools to stockpile their biggest local talent pool (JUCOs) like they did in the 70s and 80s and they are at such an inherent disadvantage I’m not sure it’s fixable.

Wright can X&O with anyone, but I'd take Beilein over K in that regard. I'd only take K over him, if intending a K/Duke program and legacy that can land the top three players in a signing class..

With Michigan's history/platform, Beilein no longer hamstrung to WVU level recruiting..do hope he wins one before he's done.

And yet both those Schools continue to outrecruit the Aggies?

Are you slow or just a liar?

Because they play a bunch of teams with the same dilemma. A&M spent the last 25 years playing in the two toughest divisions in the BCS/playoff era full of teams stocked with elite southern talent.

Michigan hasn't out recruited A&M since like the 2016 class

Meh

It's just a dumb argument in general

Nd. Ohio State. Michigan still recruit well and nationally.

If you want to pick on the rest of the Midwest, then I'd agree. But these three continue to get quality plsyrrs

It really isnt. Michigan and ND and nebraska had inherit advantages that allowed them to not just do well, but prosper for decades. Those advantages no longer exist and you see it with what has happened with Michigan and ND and nebraska since then. Ohio state is the exception

I think he will. He is how I used to view Izzo. His teams are scary in March because they always peak at the right time. Last year's team didn't have national title talent, but they were hot going in and made a run to the title game. One of these years, he'll get there and won't have to face a loaded team like Louisville or Villanova.
