So now steroids give you fast switch movements??
You don't think they do?
They don't make you run faster? They don't give you more power?
You're seiousky prepared to dispute this?

First, I think what you're brushing past is that a shitload of defensive players are juiced up, yet he is heads and shoulders better than them all. Why is that? He must have the special juice that no one else has.
Second, why do you give a shite? Sit back and enjoy the show.

Guys like brady Anderson and Bret Boone were late bloomers too
Anderson went from a career high of 21 HR to 50 HR at age 32
Boone was a 5'10" 180 2B who hit a career high of 37HR at age 32 then turned around and hit 35 HR at age 34. This after hitting HR in the teens during his 20s
It's crazy this generation is so oblivious to steroid use. So defensive. It has proven over the course of time to turn mediocre athletes into superstars at the top of their respective profession.

How do any of you know he hasn't been tested?
based on the above statement and just statistical chance, It is FAR more likely that he has been tested and passed than it is that he has never been tested. Dudes been in the league and wrecking shop for 3 years. Do y'all really think the league has just given him a pass and not tested him?
Is hgh possible? Sure it is. But hgh does not improve performance on par with anabolic steroids, which is what most of you are incinuating. Hgh doesn't make you the beast that he is.
It's a natural tendency to hate on those who are on top, and to see their performance with some degree of bias. But the outright conviction some of you have that he is a "roidhead" really has no basis. It's just a way for you to rationalize something you've never seen before.

According to NFL Senior Vice President Adolpho Birch in an interview conducted by Lori Nickel of the Journal Sentinel:
During the season we test in the neighborhood of 350 a week. Ten players, per team, per week. Plus other players who are tested because they’re under reasonable cause.

The NFL's drug testing policy has long been considered flawed. These athletes are given notice of their test and have enough time to take action to distort their sample come test time. Anti doping experts will tell you an sort of advance notice makes beating the test easy. Especially for these atheltes with deep pockets
I think the new drug policy in the league institutes random testing.. Not sure. I know they were going to start testing for HGH. For an athlete like watt, the damage is already done. The dude obviously works out like a maniac and will only see minimal loss of his gains, if any

350 during the season, ok... What about off season?
Still, there are 1600 players on NFL rosters. It's silly to think they can catch them all.

I already posted a thread about this recently.
Shocking. Shocking, I tell you.

JJ Watt thanks the NFL for its incompetence.

Look, we all know JJ is on something. I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the league is.
The thing is, he's putting in more time or his base is just naturally higher than everyone else's, disregarding the roids.
He's a freak of nature, Cushing is a freak of nature, but they're both on something and that makes them even freakier.

Yeah, it's called juicing up and hitting the gym for 18 hours a day.

Yea he definitely has ability. And he's a relentless worker. Not everyone's canvas is the same

Baseball and football are not comparable. Steroids don't give a football player instincts like Watt has. They don't help him catch interceptions at the line of scrimmage (that most players couldn't even get a hand on). Steroids haven't helped him recover fumbles, catch touchdown passes, etc.

Steroids help him get there faster and push lineman harder.
Certain positions still need to have high football IQ to play at the NFL level. QB's get a lot of credit for being cerebral, but ILBs, safeties, and even Dlineman need to be able to read offenses too.

so they cant help him run thru or around offensive lineman?

I just believe that most defenders are on steroids, so it doesn't really bother me. Look at all of the great defensive players - Ray Lewis, Clay Matthews, Brian Urlacher. All of those guys use/d steroids.

I think everyone here is over estimating the use of roids by players. There are so many other legal and healthy options to get crazy big and still be really fast. A weight room used properly mixed with the right diet and supplements can do wonders. Football is such a mental game as well. Watt isnt just lining and and playing. He's mentally out thinking his opponent as well while staying in the confine of the called defense.

You don't think that .000001% of the population can just be phenomenal athletes? Let's not forget that these people are paid a substantial amount of money to be in great shape and have the best facilities and workout instructors at their disposal

I do not think I have heard the MVP chant in a football stadium before.
I hope he wins the MVP, he deserves it for the season he is having.
I do not think he is on steroids, maybe some snowcaps

Lester, he kinda has you here. You are way over valuing steroids. According to you, steroids turns a person from a walk on to the best defensive player in the NFL.
At no point did he say that. According to him, JJ Watt's growth is unnatural and was probably done with steroids. Not everybody's body reacts the same way to steroids, not everyone has the frame to fill out as well as JJ taking steroids, and not everybody who takes steroids takes the same amount of kind.
Steroids don't increase every single human's size by 40 pounds, their 40 by .2, and their bench press by 150 pounds.
