At least I haven't heard anything from John Fine. My patience ran out with him when they pre-empted a World Series game for Denham Springs HS football. I couldn't believe it!
BTW, John Fine is the producer of that programing I believe.

What are they supposed to do? Cancel their broadcast in which they pay good money for for a baseball game in a market that has no baseball team, and can be found as simply as turning on a television or walking into any bar in the city?
i would make that same decision in a heartbeat. you care that much about the world series? it's not hard to find a place to follow it.

I think the fact that, if the money a station is getting to broadcast Denham Springs Football is considered "good money" for that station, it pretty much speaks volumes about the state of sports talk radio, in the area.

i'm sure it does in Denham Springs.
And there are a gazillion other places to follow the baseball game.
Fine as an independent contractor owes it to his advertisers to broadcast the game and every game that they cover.l

the radio industry as a whole is dying. nationally. you get money, then you're grateful for it.
fine paid for his time, and his advertisers paid him. I wouldn't cancel the broadcast either. You want to watch the WS?
then watch it at any of the number of places you can watch it.

I would never under any circumstances ever in life listen to a high school sporting event on the radio. Nor do I know anyone who would, and if I did know them I would not know them anymore.

you're also not in high school, don't have a kid or kid's friend who plays in HS. i wouldn't either.
But if it's successful enough for JF to make a living selling advertising for broadcasting the games then it's obviously popular enough.
There are many other reasons to hate JF. Having a shite sounding voice and the most boring takes in history would be two.
Protecting his business interests for me would not be one of them.

Recall a few years back when some Baton Rouge Biddy football team had their games broadcasted on cable with announcers.
Many people like myself actually enjoy watching Little League World Series more than the MLB WS.
