lol gotta love how Urban is such a dirtbag that he's campaigning for a job that isn't open for a team that's headed to the playoff.

i'd almost feel bad for ryan day and his patchy half beard if i could forget how much of a chode he was back in 2019 about how they should've been ranked #1. who has the gif of that stupid arse look on his face when his team was rightfully ranked #2 in the final rankings that year?

The game had passed Meyer by so badly that he had to hire a new OC to help get him out of the Tim Tebow era of football. That new OC happened to be Ryan Day

Urban Meyer won a Nc at OSU in 2014 and Ryan day was hired in 2017

Yea and he was terrible in 2015 with far and away the most talented roster in the country and in 2016 he coached a terrible game at PSU and then got blanked 31-0 in the playoffs. Then he hired Day

Meyer shot down speculation that he could return to the Buckeyes as head coach on Thursday in a statement released on the official account for his podcast, The Triple Option, in which he said he has “no interest in coaching again” while expressing that he has “full confidence in Ryan Day, his staff, and every player that puts on the Scarlet and Gray.”

He'll be a HC by the new year somewhere

Zero chance Meyer would make it past 2 years in the NIL/transfer portal era.

Why not? He was cheating before, now it's just legal.

There is no lock that he will win anything there.

I actually think Urban enjoys what he is doing now while still making good money doing it, plus there is no pressure working on TV.

I think Meyer could do what he always does, come in, make a huge splash because donors will pay out their ears with him back, and maybe win a title off of harnessing so much talent for a 3 year period that they have real chances.

Then he will deteriorate either physically, mentally or have some scandal type thing occur and he will be gone.

And you'd rather just lose to Michigan every year than that?

I'd rather have a stable program who is literally competing for national titles every year anyway.

Day is literally doing the same thing Meyer did at OSU with similar records every year.

This loss to Michigan was a really bad one for sure, but it is what it is

I remember the days when beating Michigan was all that mattered… those days are long gone. So you would rather win every game but lose to Michigan every year as long as you made playoffs??? I wonder if you are in the minority????

Look at this year, tOSU beating Michigan is no longer an absolute requirement to win a natty

Thank the playoff expanding to 12 teams

I probably am. I was speaking to a number of friends about it last night. They all live in Ohio and I live in TX. I grew up in TX and only spent 4 years in Ohio for school really. So I am an alumni but I didn't grow up in the rivalry

To me at this point it is like an NFL divisional game. The Steelers want to beat the Browns every time, but if they don't, you move on and play next weekend

Well I grew up with the game and every year was special. I was a young teen during The Ten Years War.. different times back then but beating OSU was the objective. It’s like it was all that mattered.
