Kobe Bryant is the NBA’s Welfare King.

Yes, this column is about King Kobe, the most pampered athlete in the history of sports.

quote:

Kobe is spoiled. He’s lived off NBA food stamps his entire career. Has any player in league history played with four different All-Star 7-footers? Shaq, Howard, Gasol and Bynum. Are you kidding me?

Given all the help he’s received, it would be embarrassing if Kobe didn’t retire with eight titles. Let’s don’t forget, in Shaq’s final season in L.A., Kobe also got to play with Karl Malone and Gary Payton. Now Kobe gets a still-effective Steve Nash to play point guard.

quote:

No matter what happens, Kobe should not get credit for a sixth superstar championship ring if the Lakers win it all. This should count as a Robert Horry-like supporting player championship ring. Any titles Kobe wins with Howard should be marked with an asterisk and should not be considered of the same value as the titles Magic and Michael won.

The real all-time greats won titles without the benefit of welfare.

I know he's just trying to get a reaction out of people but god damn these arguments are annoying. Couldn't we just as easily say Shaqs titles are tainted since he won with Kobe and DWade?
Kobe is getting older he needs help, Bird had Walton. I mean shite you think if Patrick Ewing was like "hey I wanna play with you MJ", he'd have been like "nah I'm good"?!?!?

That's just ridiculous

Man that's a pure hate article if I've ever seen one.

How is this a hate article when it's true? Kobe has been spoiled ever since Shaq donned a Lakers uniform

And that's his fault? Sorry he has been blessed with management that actually will do what it takes to win.

Where did I say it's his fault? Any player probably wishes they had players next to him like Kobe has.

But I don't see why it is a "hate" article when he is pointing out that he has gotten lucky with his teammates

NO. He is NOT. He is the BIGGEST racist in the history of sports writing.Plus he is almost as big an attention whore as Jemele Hill and Skip Bayless and Steven.A Dumbass Smith.

I can only hope he is trolling. By this logic, no player has ever won a title. Are you not allowed to have good teammates?

All he is saying is that unlike with every title Jordan or magic won, for most of kobes titles he was not the most dominate player on the court.
