There where some tweets going around yesterday about his career so far, they really are funny in retrospective
What a guy
quote:
First 67 career starts: Peyton Manning 17,190 yards, 117 TDs, 84 INTs, 61% completion rate, 85.4 passer rating Jameis Winston: 18,399 yards, 111 TDs, 78 INTs, 61% completion rate, 86.9 passer rating
quote:
Jameis Winston is the ONLY quarterback in NFL history to throw four touchdown passes, throw three interceptions, rush for a touchdown and gain 400 passing yards in a game. #Bucs #Colts #INDvsTB
quote:
With a 5 TD performance, #GoBucs QB Jameis Winston became #1 All-Time in NFL history for most pass yards before age 26 and #2 All-Time in passing TDs before 26 (behind only Dan Marino

Poor Bucs. Of course Jameis plays fairly well in his contract year

If Jameis played in the 1960s AFL, he would have been a beloved HOF QB like Joe Namath.

Don’t be crabby

In the new NFL if a guy is given 16 games hes gonna put up numbers that dwarf guys from the 90s and early 2000s
Ive said this a bunch before, but at the end of his career Matt Stafford may be atop (or near it) all the passing record books.

He’s also the only qb in history to steal crab legs. The sad part is that he didn’t need to steal them.

Look at Godwin’s face. He’s like wtf?!

Those INTs though. Lordy.

Maybe I shouldn't ask, but what in the hell is he symbolizing in the gif?

Bucs have a terrible decision to make. Good thing for them is Jameis won’t go somewhere else and play better. Arians has provided a lot of stats this year

Crazy part is there's been about two games that the Bucs choked that weren't on Jameis. Bucs could easily be 8-5

I did not enjoy that...
I did not know the back story behind that gif.
That is disturbing

You can’t compare numbers even from the late 90s and early 00s. Defenses could still play defense.
I think he deserves at least another year with Bruce.

dude has cost them a few games
he has been a turnover machine

This is obviously just a byproduct of the current pass-friendly rules that are in place.
The NFL during the late 90s / early 00s (Peyton's first 5 or so seasons) was a completely different game than what it is now.

1. Comparing someone passing in todays game the late 90s early 2000/ is dumb
2. Manning also stopped throwing as many Int after his 5th season and only three 39 over the next 4 years. Winston isn’t progressing in that department.

Jameis Winston could lead the league in both touchdowns and interceptions
quote:
Adding touchdowns and interceptions is a good way to identify a quarterback who can keep both teams in the game. And on that metric, Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston easily leads the league.
. . .
Winston will almost certainly finish the season with the most interceptions in the league (currently no one else is even within six interceptions of him), and he has a chance to lead the league in touchdown passes, too (he’s only two behind league leader Lamar Jackson). There’s not another quarterback in the league like Winston, who ensures that both the Buccaneers and their opponents will put points on the board.
