UW has massive resources, strong attendance, a great city. They won a NC with a team that absolutely dominated Alabama-style. They are well above mid-pack in the Pac 10. You could argue they're number 2, but at least temporarily, they are 3 behind Oregon and USC.
The only weakness is proximity to recruits. But Oregon has that problem too.
Oregon's cool, they are fun, they have single booster who's financing them. But as an institution, they aren't on UW's level.
