IYO, who are some of the most egregious award winners?

Can be any sport. Where do you think they(mostly writers) got it wrong, and who should’ve won?
The first one that always comes to my mind, is Bob Welch over Roger Clemens in the 1990 Cy Young voting. It shouldn’t have even been close. Welch wasn’t even the best pitcher on his team(Dave Stewart), and didn’t deserve any Cy Young votes, let alone win it. But because he had those shiny 27 wins, they gave it to him.
CLEMENS:
228.1 IP
1.93 ERA
2.18 FIP
209 K
54 BB
7 HR
8.2 fWAR
10.5 bWAR
WELCH:
238 IP
2.95 ERA
4.19 FIP
127 K
77 BB
26 HR
1.8 fWAR
3.0 bWAR
This was just a terrible decision. What are some *y’all’s?
*I know this isn’t a word, but love it anyway.

Mo Vaughn over Albert Belle
“His reputation, and more specifically his disdain of the media, cost him votes for the 1995 MVP Award The fact that he was caught cheating the year before, in the infamous 1994 Bat Burglary, didn't help his cause either. He finished second in the media voting to the Boston Red Sox' Mo Vaughn even though he led the American League that season in runs scored, home runs, RBIs, slugging percentage and total bases, and outpaced Vaughn head-to-head in every important offensive category except RBIs (both men had 126); both players' teams reached the playoffs. “

David Robinson winning the MVP over Olajuwon was sort of defensible until Olajuwon destroyed him one on one in the WCF in 1994-95.
Jason White won the 2003 Heisman over Larry Fitzgerald pretty much just by being a quarterback. Eli Manning rounded out the top three.

Troy Smith over McFadden

That’s not even the most egregious heisman frick up. Charles Woodson over Peyton Manning is the biggest joke in that awards history.

Gino Torretta over Marshall Faulk

Very good example. Also, Belle was a top 10 hitter in the MLB(notice I didn’t say fielder) in the 90s.

Can't decide if Derrick Henry or Lamar Jackson over Deshaun Watson is more lol.
Can I put both?

Shocked this board hasn’t already mentioned Rose over Lebron.

Iguadala finals MVP was pretty egregious
it was almost like the announcers picked who won, by giving him so much credit during the game broadcasts, then when u actually looked at the numbers it didnt make sense
