re: IYO, do Curt Schilling & Kevin Brown belong in the Hall Of Fame?
quote:

Morris ERA is high, but he threw a 175 complete games. That's a 130 more than Pedro Martinez.

Please don't ever utter the most dominant pitcher of all time and Jack Morris in the same sentence again

Schilling would be in if he didn't constantly post shite about Muslims.

Both are borderline given the era they pitched in. Neither were considered the best pitcher in baseball, and were a slight tier below the true elite guys like Pedro or Maddux. If either got in, it wouldn't lessen the Hall or anything, but neither are shoo ins. Tough living right on the cusp.

I'd probably vote for Schilling for his postseason heroics. Pooh-pooh that stuff all you want, but flags fly forever. That stuff matters, and Schilling delivered when it mattered most. Brown, OTOH, was one of the single most toxic personalities in the clubhouse and his teams usually fell short. The one team that didn't, the 1997 Marlins, benefited from his stellar 8.18 World Series ERA. He's on the outside.

Schilling there’s no question for me. Kevin Brown I don’t think so but it’s probably pretty close
