8Why does people playing a sport really matter in the large scheme of life.
Enjoy the entertainment but other issues are far more important.

You nailed it. Also absurd for LSU fans to be passionate Bengals fans
People get emotionally invested in a lot of things that don’t necessarily affect them. Sports, politics, celeb worship, reality television, other people’s lives, etc. It’s a decidedly human trait and it’s more unnatural to not be completely unaffected sometimes.
