LSU fans roasted Aranda for far less.

AJ Terrell needs to go pro in something other than sports. He looked undraftable last night. Venables should be getting roasted for not giving him some help when he clearly needed it.

If that guy is getting first round grades, then this is a weak, weak CB class outside of Okudah.

Clemson got destroyed by a far better team. Is what it is.

Doubt his seat is even Luke warm.

I thought they got burned playing man a lot, but they did a good job disguising where pressure was coming from and clearly prioritized getting pressure on Burrow over all else.

The talent LSU has at QB and WR is not exactly something that you can contain easily. It’s just matchup nightmares. The only game where they looked mortal all year that I remember was against Auburn, who was able to generate pressure without blitzing due to two NFL defensive linemen and dropped 7-8 into coverage pretty routinely. It felt like any team that had to blitz to generate pressure most of the time was just destined to get burned often against this LSU team.

Clemson gave up more yards than Georgia Southern and Northwestern State.

Burrow said in the post-game they never really figured out where the blitzes were coming from. That's a pretty shining endorsement.

Not his fault TLaw couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn to give his D some rest.

....or, Chase is a legit first rounder with an elite QB with top accuracy.

He had to have been mentioned as many times as Burrow and 10x more than anyone else during the espn broadcast. And every comment was positive.

Is there a job that he’s waiting for or is he going to carry Dabo’s water until they die?

I thought he actually called a pretty good defensive game. Gave LSU fits at times... was able to generate a lot of pressure. Once LSU adjusted, though, there wasn't anything he had left. Bringing all that pressure leaves your DBs in single coverage which is deadly against LSU.

Now that purple shirt... he should take heat for that...

Yeah, Venables did the best job of disguising and confusing Burrow that I saw all season

and what do you think would have happened? It's not a coincidence that Jefferson blew up against Oklahoma and Chase blew up last night. That LSU offense was about taking the easy match-up. You give him safety help and you watch Jefferson go wild in the slot.
There's only so much adjustment you can make

Something ridiculous to think about, Burrow had more total yards against Clemson than he had against OU.

514 yards - OU
521 yards - Clemson

He’d have a job before he finished packing his office, probably in the nfl, if they did fire him for some unfathomable, ridiculous reason.

You’re right, we were just better. No shame in it for them. Burrow is probably the only quarterback in the entire country that could have stood up to them like he did, and if he didn’t have the playmakers he did around him, it wouldn’t have made a bit of difference. That defense was absolutely relentless coming from 100 different directions. There wasn’t ANYTHING wrong with their front 7. Their secondary just couldn’t keep up.

I'd fire Grantham in heartbeat for Venables.
