Is Kyle Lowry the most overrated player in the NBA?

I realize his stats show how he is a good player and he does have all-star quality performances at times as well as showing good stats in this game tonight, but this dude makes some of the most bone-headed plays to go along with the fact that he doesnt show up in big games. All Im saying is that I wouldnt want him on my team....

He's the only reason why this game isn't a 35 point blowout.
Now DeMar DeRozan...

Depends on where you have him rated. To me, he's in the upper half of the third tier of players in the NBA. He's good enough that at times he can look like the second best player on a championship level team (i.e. second tier).
He doesn't consistently play as well as a second-tier guy at his position like a CP3 or Damian Lillard. If you think he's in that class then yeah he's overrated.

quote:well I dislike Harden and Green as people personally, but I wouldnt say they are overrated. Especially not Harden. That dude is a stud. But I will slightly agree and say thay Green wouldnt be the same player if he were on any other team in the NBA. With that said, he plays his role so god damn well in GS. Dude can guard any player on the court and has elite level basketball IQ.

Aldridge is overrated as a go-to guy

I know it is cool to pile on LMA right now but I think his problem with SA is fit. I don't see many of the same kind of looks and touches he got in Portland.

LMAO...he's the most overrated "star" in the league. He's 44th in points per shot, sub-30% from 3, has an effective FG of 46% (awful), cannot defend (Toronto is -5 points per 100 possessions when he's on the floor), and is a career -1.4 in the +/- department.
Toronto made a BIG mistake signing him to a $139MM extension.
The best player on that team is just starting to show his stripes...Norman Powell.

Draymond is the second best defender in the league, at worst. Personally I think he and Kawhi are 1a and 1b on that side of the ball.

Then why does Kerr always have Iggy check LBJ. Green is a great defender but he's not on Kawhi's level.

Like how Danny Green was defending Harden for much of last night instead of Kawhi? People want to make individual matchups cut-and-dry when it never really is. There are times when you put your best defender on the opponent's best threat down the stretch of games, but for the most part, you assign matchups to put yourself in position to stop all five opponents, not just one guy. If you go strictly by your strategy, maybe you have a great defender on their best guy, but you created mismatches at every other position at the same time, throwing off defensive rotations.
Draymond was:
#1 in Defensive Box +/-
#2 in Defensive Win Shares
#2 in Defensive Rating
#1 in Steals/Game

For the most part I agree with you but Kawhi is really a 3. Harden is playing the 1. Draymond plays the 3 or 4. LBJ plays the 3 or 4 generally. Draymond guarding a guy that plays the same position isn't gonna mess up rotations. Kawhi guarding Harden forces Green to have to guard Ariza and Ariza is just too big for Green.

The best defense isn't played individually. Draymond is affecting all 5 players when on the court. Having him guard Lebron on the perimeter takes away his impact.

What people should say then is that Draymond is one of the best if not the best help defender in the NBA. I can agree with that. He's pretty good on the ball too just not on Kawhi's level.

All of which tell me he's on a team that is pretty good defensively and he's a great help defender. I never said Draymond wasn't a good defender. He's very very good. Just not on Kawhi's level.
