I think he deserves to get in, but so far there are only 8 relief pitchers in the hall.

His stats are legit….

“Nathan retired with 377 saves, at the time eighth-most in MLB history, a 2.87 ERA, and an 89.3% save percentage, the highest amongst all relievers with at least 250 saves.”

Pitched in the AL while Rivera was dominating for NY, so maybe that takes away from his chance.

If there was a HOF for banging cleat chasing hoes, then Joe Nathan gets in on the first ballot.

Billy Wagner is your measuring stick and he's been on the ballot 7 times and he's a bit better than Nathan.

A sports writer, who I respect claims the run Nathan went on when he was at his best, will get him in. We'll see, baseball writers like to move the goal posts

He won't even be on the ballot next year, since he got less than 5% of the vote this year.

This is a really random thread.

Totally. Someone posted a gif in the LSU recruiting class thread on the rant of him knocking on his own dick in the All Star game, sitting next to Mariano.

That’s what brought it to mind. Totally random.

he could not get a strike call on his curve in the national league.

none of the national league writers would give him a vote.
if there were computer systems calling balls and strikes he would have been a giants career star and first ballot.
