I've been on YouTube watching highlights of old fights, and decided I'd look for a schedule of upcoming heavyweight fights. It's pitiful. Is heavyweight boxing in our past? Is there anything that can save it, short of an ACTUAL boxing authority to take over and stop letting there be 20 so-called champions in each weight class?

It's been dead for about 10 years (and that's being generous)

Has there really been any top notched heavyweights since Tyson?

Unfortunately it is. I will watch the lowest tier boxing on television if I ever catch it.

MMA just isn't my thing and while it is king right now, it doesn't really show any signs of wanting to move beyond what it is now.

I would say that Lennox Lewis is probably the last really good heavyweight. I think he was the last one to hold all the belts at the same time.

This. I stopped caring after the Klitschko fight. Damn shame we never got a rematch.

No doubt. I liked Lennox but I wanted to see Vitali whoop his arse.

If Don King is going broke - boxing is dead.
