Shouldn’t durability be considered in the context of tGOAT at a position?

Gates and Gonzales were great but they have no rings.

Moving forward...I’d keep an eye on Travis Kelce and George Kittle’s careers. They’re both great athletes and TEs.

So you put tony Gonzales or Antonio gates on the patriots for their careers and that dynasty unravels?

Sure. But so should the entire responsibility of the position.

On that grounds alone, you can't take Gates; the only thing he blocked in his life was a drive-thru lane.

What would John Mackey or Mike Ditka do in today's game?

So Jay Novchek is equal to Gronk since he has the same # of rings

I’d assume bc they disagree.

Having Gronk or Gonzales as #1 TE are reasonable positions.

Show me some baws that can block while catching those TDs

I did. Ditka & Mackey just were unfortunate to play in an era where teams didn't throw the ball as much as they do today. Both were tough as frick blocking & with the run after catch.

Championships are one of the dumber arguments for GOAT regarding football players outside of possibly QB. Individual sports absolutely, but even when you get to small team sports like Bball the argument becomes much more tenuous. I would argue first-team All-pro and pro bowls are a much better measure than ships.

Easily, and it’s not really up for debate.
