Before you said it was clear Texas wants out but you haven;t pointed to any evidence of that.

I get that you still have a bad taste in your mouth with the way A&M left the Big 12, but Texas (and OU) are still thriving in the Big 12 monetarily. The football will come around eventually, I think.

but you understand what the lack of other big 12 schools on that list means right?

It means Texas and OU can continue to dominate the conference. They don't give a flying frick about how good the rest of the Big 12 is b/c they are both legacy blue bloods and will always get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to making the football playoff. Never mind that it's pretty much guaranteed to be expanded which will likely always put the Big 12 champ in regardless.

but the conference continues to fall behind everyone else and that is not something UT is going to want to tie itself to going forward. they are either leaving or the big 12 is bringing new schools in....like they tried to do last year

this is bullshite. they will not keep getting the benefit of the doubt over schools from the big ten, acc, or sec if the rest of the conference further lags behind

i will agree to this. the playoff expanding and guaranteeing a spot for the big 12 will help keep OU and UT in the conference

Yes they will. All they have to do is look halfway decent and they shoot up the rankings. I wish it wasn't so but it is.

That's the thing. It's going to expand sooner than later. Two SEC teams getting into the playoff this last year has already got the ball rolling on that.

Not really. OU has made it twice and wasn't undefeated either time.

OU and Texas both get the same treatment Notre Dame gets. Win a few games and THEY'RE BACK BABY!

and the big 12 hasnt really had the full effect of falling behind yet. in those years, they still played conference games with teams ranked in the top 10 to prop up their resumes. i am convinced the big 12 as it stands today wont exist after the GOR dies because its a group of schools that UT and OU dont want to tie themselves to long term, unless the big 12 is guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. they are either leaving or bringing in new schools and that is where a merger with the pac 12 comes into play because schools like USC and UCLA are not happy with how the conference network has turned out

I think expansion is inevitable. The question will be will UT/OU bolt? Or will they expand with something like BYU and a Florida school.

As long as WVU can end up in the ACC or SEC I'm happy. Big 12 can do what they want as far as Im concerned.

Sucks having the closest school be 600 miles away.

We are 100% moving to this end. I’ve been speaking to this for at least the last 5 years. This will concentrate all of the financial power within the P5 and the NCAA goes the way of the dinosaurs.

The old big 8 thought about merging with the an 8 team swc but than thought why do we need them all? I’m sure the pac 12 would think the same and only take 4-6 big 12 schools

Because the Big Ten and SEC are so far ahead in the money game already. Why would they give up their advantages and the positions they have earned through good decisions they have made just to prop up some schools that are being left behind?

Also, academics matter to some schools, especially some in the Big Ten, PAC, and ACC. Who they associate with matters to presidents making the decisions.

This shite, the first time, was one of the most stressful experiences in my life.

Campus was an absolute madhouse.
