James led his team in all statistical categories en route to a finals win over the greatest team in history.
He led both teams.
Why can’t people ever get this right? It’s the only time it has ever been done in the history of the game.

Are you trying to tell us that Lebron wasn’t doing enough in most years?
LeBron as great as y'all say he is, makes players better as y'all say he does, and assembles TWO superteams in a single decade, why he only win 3 titles in 8 years? Woulda gone 2-6 this decade if not for Ray Allen

he...assembles all these superteams with great supporting role players
You will not win this. Literally every argument you make except steals statistic will favor James.

The end to this argument is free agency then and now. If free agency was thought of the same back when Jordan played as it is now then he would’ve won 10 titles.
Guys would have teamed up against Jordan. Many accounts of Jordan being a difficult teammate due to being beyond demanding of others. He wouldn't have attracted other stars or ran to play on their teams.

Takes some of the shine off the accomplishment let's be honest, do the Cavs really overcome 3-1 against a fully stacked and healthy Golden State team, especially playing 2 of the final 3 at Oracle? Cmon man don't be a schmuck.
Green's stat line in Game 7: 32/15/9/2/0
Who won that game?

He choked and wasn’t good enoug against Dallas.
Cle wasn’t a super team But Love and Kyrie were out for the first finals. He won the 2nd one with them even though Love missed a game. And the last one was just he and bum arse Love. Love averaged 17 ppg that season.
Are we taking a title from MJ for Kerr’s shot?

They were better than the teams Jordan faced. Basketball players are better now than they were 20-30 years ago. Deal with it.
quote:Then why did he shoot so many more free throws per lane touch than James does?
players were permitted to literally tackle him (Jordan Rules)
There's no reason you shouldn't understand this.
quote:I'm very comfortable with the idea of you arguing that Jordan's performance in the first two rounds in the playoffs proves that he is the best of all time.
Did Jordan not play great in those series?

your boy not so much too many choke jobs
Game-tying/go-ahead field goals with under 10 seconds left in the postseason:
Michael Jordan: 7/15 (47%)
Kobe Bryant: 5/22 (23%)
LeBron James: 12/23 (52%)

On its face, it was the most impressive playoff series victory in the history of sport. But to do lead all players in all stat categories while doing it? It's the single greatest feat in sports history.

Incorrect

don't disagree with you there considering how he strongarmed AD out of NOLA
quote:
He's a better GM than Michael Jordan
Why don't you ask today's Cleveland Cavaliers how good a GM he is considering they now retain the Tristan Thompson and JR Smith contracts on their ledgers courtesy of UnKlutch Sports (LeBron's agency)
Besides that's a pretty weak point relating to who the GOAT is especially considering how dominant the Air Jordan brand is STILL performing, Hanes? Can I interest you in Like Mike? Space Jam? His McDonalds ads? Moreover, isn't Michael Jordan like the first black owner in the history of pro basketball? talk about checkmate

Way to omit that Steph was hampered that series by injury and they lost their rim protector Bogut midway through, checkmate

Can't really say that about Jordan can we?

You saying K-Love and Kyrie are bums? Those dudes made all-star teams prior to LeBron returning bro FOR SMALL MARKET TEAMS
Can't forget Delly, JR, Tristan, Korver, Channing, Iman, etc that's not a bad second unit to assist that big 3 solid role players
quote:
And the last one was just he and bum arse Love. Love averaged 17 ppg that season.
Had GSW on the ropes in Oracle game 1 then LeBum threw a hissy fit at JR (justified of course but they hadn't lost the game, just extending to OT) and shut down in the overtime, maybe the complexion of the series changes if LeBron actually did something that OT and leads them to that W not to mention KD SCHOOLING him game 3 in the King's Palace.

Are we taking a title from MJ for Kerr’s shot?
Woulda gone to game 7 in the United Center, Jordan led his team to victory with the flu on the road that same series, he ain't losing that game

Jordan is the GOAT but I can at least see how someone could make the argument that Lebron is close. Unfortunately, XIV is nowhere close to making it.
Here's a well balanced assessment of the argument from someone that succeeded in both eras and was instrumental in delivering one of Lebron's rings:
Ray Allen on who is the GOAT

Steph was hampered that series by injury
You made the point that Cleveland won in part because Green missed a game. Two games later, he had the game of his life, and Cleveland still won. The truth about Green is that he got cucked so bad by Lebron that he resorted to hitting him in the balls every chance he got. Draymond Green is a little bitch because Lebron James turned him into one.
James is better than Jordan. You are wrong. You lose. You'll never win this.

You gonna sit here and contend the Demar Derozan/Lowry Raptors teams were harder to beat than the Goon Squad Knicks of Riley, Ewing, Starks, Anthony Mason, Charles Oakley, Xavier McDaniel, Doc Rivers, Mark Jackson, Gerald Wilkins, Derek Harper, Charles Smith, etc. Can I interest you in the Boston dynasty of the 80s? How about the Bad Boy Pistons? The early 90s Cavs of Daugherty, Nance, Price, Hot Rod Williams, Terrell Brandon, Ehlo coached by Lenny Wilkens? How about the late 90s Pacers? The Orlando Magic of Shaq and Penny?
CMON MAN
Moreover, just because players are purportedly more athletic today than years past doesn't denote teams are harder to overcome than they were when MJ played. Always helps when you assemble super teams TWICE in a decade, makes it easier.

Correct. Basketball players are better today than they were 20-30 years ago, just like breaking the 100m world record is harder today than it was 20-30 years ago.

Not gonna work. What James did in the 2016 Finals is the greatest thing any basketball player has ever done.
And Michael Jordan wasn't good enough to do it.

He was just pointing out the absurdity of using that claim to support the conclusion you’ve put forth but instead of acknowledging a clear cut logical fallacy you’ve removed all doubt that you’re capable of reasoning at the level of a typical high school student.
