If the whole NBA reset and started from scratch for 1 year only, who do you take first?

-Kawhi is the total package and I think he is the best player currently for what he does in every facet of the game.
-Giannis is an athletic freak but has he developed the killer instinct yet?
-Durant is gonna be out for most of the year.
-LeBron still has an argument but is aging. Wouldn’t count him out for just one year though.
-AD doesn’t have that alpha personality and is fragile.
-Harden just doesn’t do it for me personally.
-Curry is great but not gonna stop anyone defensively.
-Brian Scalibrine retired while in his prime and would be in the discussion.

Got to be Kawhi at this point.

Lebron

The top 4 would be some combo of Lebron/Curry/KD/Kawhi, in no particular order.

Joel Embiid, Pascal Siakam, Draymond Green, and Mitchell Robinson. I believe i could get all 4 in a 30 team draft of the whole NBA

Giannis for one year since he has no recent injury history and improves every year. Kawhi, LeBron, Curry and Harden would round out my top 5.

Durant would have been my number one at full health.

The whole thing resets after the hypothetical next year. Not sure I would want KD if it was only a one year window.

Prolly Lebron for one year

Kawhi will play better defense overall during the regular season. But i think playoff Lebron is still the best

Were taking age into consideration right?

Greek Freak is my #1.

If it is one year only and not knowing the supporting cast I would take Lebron. Kawhi would be right behind him and who I would want for a longer period of time.

No one else is close.

Misread the one year only.

Probably Curry. If we did it before this season Kawhi wouldn’t be considered because he was coming off of an injury.

Green would be gone way before the third round even started.

Yep.

When you make it 1 full season, it gives Kawhi a legit option. I'd go Lebron but wouldn't argue a Kawhi pick.

But I go Lebron because if you shortened the OP to one playoff run, I think it's Lebron by a good margin still imo.

You’re not taking KD for one year only in a year he will be recovering from a very bad basketball injury.
