It's not doing ok due to growing evidence of concussions and their consequences which is in turn leading to less kids playing which will end up hurting and even killing the sport in the long term. Is that clear enough?

Using revenue as an argument doesn't do anything. TV ratings have taken a hit. Like I said (and many others who have researched it unlike myself,) it's going to be a long term thing.

This should help explain it better than I can

There will be a rise in basketball, baseball, with a big jump in soccer. The three would be closer together than they are to the nfl currently IMO.

No one sport will do it It will be spread among baseball, basketball, and soccer as far as the best athletes. You will see more and more young athletes move away from Football. There was a reason why Frank Thomas, Kirk Gibson and others choose baseball back then and why more and more young men will choose other sports.

Baseball and soccer will gain speed which will help our soccer program internationally. I think football will become bigger and slower. the fast guys who used to play WR, CB, or RB can use that speed in baseball and soccer.

I don't think this would be a scenario using substitutes. People will just do something else than watch TV.

Baseball was the #1 sport til the 1970’s.

It would jump back to #1 again.

these sports suck. especially soccer. that's why football isn't going anywhere and this whole national anthem things is throwing rocks at a castle.

americans want violence. we get that in the form of the nfl.

This is nothing more than speculation on your part and hasn't translated into a decline in the bottom line.
Anyway, not what you said originally and to say a sport is not doing "ok" due to what "may" happen in the future is idiotic.

What?It means the sport is extremely popular and advertisers and networks will pay billions for the product.

A slight decline but still dwarfs NBA,MLB and Soccer is a blip on the radar.

No timeouts, no nonstop commercials. Look at how much time is wasted in a football game. You see something happen every minute or so. There's just a stigma in this country over soccer for whatever reason. The ball is always moving and there's a chance something could go wrong and someone can score at any moment there.

Just my opinion, but it's a lot more entertaining to me nowadays. I can barely sit through the commercials anymore with football. There's only so many times I can see the same idiotic bud light commercial before I want to throw my remote through the screen.

Sure, my take is idiotic because I'm not just looking at the current numbers and saying see everything is fine. Ok.

Considering those people actually work covering things like this for, like a living you know, I think I'll put more weight in their opinion. They don't have to be neurologists to see where it's heading. I'm guessing you're not an economist, so that means your interpretation of the current finances doesn't mean anything either, right?

No.

Football will always be king.

It would have to completely be killed off and no more National Football League for something else to take over.
