Probably soccer it's growing extremely fast and more cities are getting pro teams. Seriously go to an MLS bar or any during the World Cup when the US is actually in it. Hell if we ever become an elite team and compete for the World Cup the sport will explode

Anecdotal, but seeing mid-south kids all-in on youth Hockey makes me think it’s NHL.

Very sound post.

I echoed those words a few days ago but not to the extent you just did whatsoever.

That is exactly what will happen. There is going to be a decline aa the NFL changes. I personally have fallen in love with baseball once again again forgot how great it truly is.

Back in the 90's I could not get enough baseball and all sports were doing great. Hell even hockey was doing good.

Nobody's ever going to watch Rugby as a substitute.

We don't have the temperment to sit through 2 hours of non-action.

We had Rugby in 1890...

And Walter Camp thought it was so boring, he changed the rules.

Instead of scrums we got line of scrimmage and downs.

From then on, you couldn't just struggle at midfield for hours on end.

Americans would never adopt Rugby, that's why there was this massive push to evolve from it in the late 19th century...the founding fathers of American football knew Americans like excitement and not scrums for 30 minutes and the ball never moved...back to the rules back then (it was basically town ball)...even Rugby realized their game was boring and changed the rules.

All THREE pro sports had record revenues in 2017... $14
Billion for the NFL, $10 Billion for MLB and around $5 billion for the NBA.

I think their ALL doing quite well.

World cup soccer is terrible. League soccer is where it's at.

And be serious every sport has floppers. NBA being at the top of it, but it's in football and everything else as well.

Football is not. Concussions are killing it. When you've got former players saying they won't let their kids play, you know something is up. It's only a matter of time, but Goodell will squeeze every penny for the owners while he can.

What?Once again, they had RECORD REVENUES of $14 Billion last year and are by far,the most successful pro sports league in the world by a wide margin.

The concussion lawsuits and discussions have barely put
a dent in their revenue. Most settled their concussion
lawsuits in 2015

The NBA and MLB are in GREAT places right now with young, marketable stars.

Hockey has been on the rise, as has soccer, although I still feel we're a decade away from relevance in the futbol world.

The poor kids in ghettos and blue collar house holds will still play football, concussions or not.

Sure there’s a drop in kids in general I’m in peewee football but it’s still alive and well. Just because some former football player says “looking back I’d have rather pursued something else” doesn’t change the mind of a high schooler who has a free ride somewhere.

We will see and growing trend in players retiring earlier into their careers though.

Lacrosse as the South gets more into it. A Running Back type player (Bold prediction ) is going to dominate the sport, then you'll see that athlete (the type that used to be the NFL's bread & butter) gravitate towards that.

Soccer, Basketball and Baseball all benefit.

MMA/Boxing.

Hell.All sports.

They have record revenues for now of course, due to TV money and endorsements. It's not about current revenue. It's about kids in the future not playing and doing other things instead. Eventually it will take a toll. It's going to be a long term thing. The decline in quality is already showing up.

Read the last part again. I didn't say Goodell was squeezing money from the owners, I said he was doing it for them.

This was your response to my statement about all sports
doing quite well. You said nothing about "kids in the future" or "long term"

Where exactly is the decline?Athletes are bigger in faster than ever.I would agree though since the owners have agreed to not allow two-a-days or contact during the week it has effected play early in the season.

Ok,how exactly is he squeezing money FOR the owners when he's negotiating record TV contracts that are shared with the players?
