Definitely a major rebuild but they weren't blown out at home. Game was pretty close the whole way. Should have been 35-28 at worst in the 4th without the officials.
Officials gifted Purdue 2 Touchdowns in the 2nd half. Even the announcers were joking about the officials by the end.

It wasn’t a major rebuild. Illinois is a major rebuild.

Had you watched the game you would know differently.
At 17-7 Huskers had a clean INT that would have given them the ball in the red zone, bs call negated the play so instead of 17-10 at worse going into the half it ended up 20-7.
At 20-7 Huskers get another call when they should have stopped them which led to 27-7. Huskers score and go to 27-14
At 27-14 the Huskers top Purdue on 3rd down and get one of the worst Roughing calls ever and score 34-14
Huskers score again making it 34-21
Nebraska once again stops Purdue and AGAIN gets screwed over by the officials making it 42-21
Huskers answer and make it 42-28.
only reason Purdue scores in the 2nd half is because of the officials. Take away bad calls and at worse it is 35-28 late in the game. Realistically I think Huskers go into the half down 17-14 without the calls.
Take away the 2 absolutely horrible calls by the officials that kept Purdue drives going and its 28-28 in the 4th.
Game was close and Nebraska was gashing the Purdue D by the end.

I agree, no excuse but the officials absolutely changed the game. Doubt that crew calls a game next week

Excuses. Gassing at the end means very little.
