When people bring up this discussion, they never mention Brees plays in a controlled environment for at least 9 games a year. Rodgers plays in a dome twice a year. There’s a reason brees has only won once in the road in the playoffs

Yes! Brees is James Harden on a football field all stats! 9-8 in postseason
Oof, swing and a miss.

Rodgers arm is superior to Brees, but Brees not winning a single MVP makes the award a complete sham. There is no denying that.

When did he deserve to win the MVP? People talk about Brees as if he strung together an endless stream a 12-14 win seasons (like Manning, Brady & Rodgers) but half of his career he only won 7,8,9 games. And when they got above that, a lot of the time Brees was just padding stats in a one dimensional system. When Brees was a legitimate MVP candidate, he had the misfortune of going against monster seasons by QBs that were better than him. That doesn't make the award a sham.

I don't think many Saints fans have a problem conceding that Rodgers is better than Brees

What’s even more weird is non Saints fans get upset if a Saints fan says Brady or Rodgers is better than Brees. It’s like they all hope we are going to get pissed off that someone thinks Brees isn’t the best of all time. Very few Saints fans I know think Brees is better than AR or TB, he was still damn good with the Saints, which to me, is all that mattered

What a pathetic fricking straw man thread. Of course its creator is a Falcons fan. Sad.

It does when you come in 2nd 4 times. It's a vote and certain players will always get it over others. Jj Watt should have got it over Aaron Rodgers in 2014 I think it was.

Right now? Yeah. In the past no. Rodgers arm talent is way better than Brees but Brees accuracy and pocket awareness put him on a level playing field.

It was sad to watch Brees in the divisional round, he was a gamer but couldn't throw the ball past 10 yards with accuracy... Like the entire game plan was long handoffs, screens and the 8 yard curl.

Rodgers was masterful.

Rodgers had good stats but didn't play well against the Rams.

He was consistently off target, missed easy short and long TD passes. Got lucky on back to back dropped interceptions in the endzone before the half and looked like he might have lost something off his fastball when he couldn't get the same velocity on off-balance throws like he normally does and was doing early in the season.

Maybe it was just the Rams D. We'll see against the Bucs.

I meant in the past compared Brees to A Rodgers. Blane Gabbert would have won us the game against Tampa. Seriously.

I think Rodgers is the best to ever do it at his peak.

Montana was better at his peak and his peak was longer...... go look at what the 49ers did throughout the 80’s.....
