Well he’s beat Oklahoma in Norman in 2012, Clemson in 2020, and but for a ridiculous OPI he should have beaten FSU in 2014.
He’s also lost a ton of them when you look at a few of the Clemson games with Watson, the playoffs, NC against Bama, ACC championship game, Georgia a few years back, etc.
When he stays within himself and has competent assistants that he lets do their job he is a great coach. When he tries to do it all and gets cute he is a terrible coach. The talent pool he has is like nothing he’s ever had before as well.

PJ was my first choice in 2016

Bama is overrated this year anyway. LSU is better than expected, but probably not Top 10 worthy. But honestly its hard to tell where many of the SEC teams should stand. Everyone but Georgia is beating up on each other so far.

Brian Kelly was by far the best “available” coach at the time LSU got him. Not even close, and I’m still amazed people were upset with the hire

This is an average talent LSU roster at best. If he wins the West with this team, the sky's the limit.

Yes, he should win a title in Baton Rouge in the next 2-3 years. He couldn’t recruit skill players to South Bend, but he can have his pick of 4 or 5 star skill players at LSU.

It’s young and not very deep, but I don’t think it’s average when you look at the last 20 years.

Nothing average about this team, still a ton of 5*, 4*, with some 3* guys on the roster. Those that were brought in were extremely talented as well.
