This probably would never happen, but would be a logical solution if they decided to push the start date back. Have conference games only and let the independents schedule each other and maybe two FCS schools that need financial aid for their program.

Notre Dame will go undefeated in your scenario. Would play Army and BYU 4 times each, unless there’s some other indys that I didn’t list.

Notre Dame would definitely go undefeated. Army, Liberty, BYU, New Mexico State, and UMass are the other independents.

I've heard that that is actually a possibility being discussed re: No non conference games and only playing conference games. But surely a decision like that would have to come sooner rather than later..

I don’t understand why 3/4 weeks of non conference games would make some huge difference. Why cancel the non conference ones?

Push everything back a month if they don’t want to start until October. Otherwise, cancelling games just so you can start the season three weeks later 6 months from now makes no sense.

I just don't understand why decisions have to made on this now. Give it until July.

You don’t have to make a decision right now but the people in power better damn sure have some contingency plans ready to act upon and not wait to July to come up with a desperation backup plan.

Moving these games is a logistical nightmare. You can't just move the season back a few weeks without major ramifications.

Just stop playing FCS all together. There is really no point to even play those games
