1. Wisconsin 12-0
2. UCF 11-0
3. Clemson 11-1
4. Oklahoma 11-1
5. Georgia 11-1
6. Alabama 11-1
7. Miami 10-1
8. Memphis 10-1
9. Auburn 10-2
10. Ohio St. 10-2

In the NFL, if the Saints finish 11-5 and the Falcons finish 10-6, but the Falcons beat the Saints both times they played, the Saints are still ahead of the Falcons in the standings. That’s my argument why Alabama and Georgia are ahead of Auburn.

In the NFL, 6 teams make the playoff per conference. Thats 12 of 30 teams.

In college 4 teams out of 130 make the playoffs.

Thats the difference.

No. All you did was organize based on win/loss record. No SoS, no timing of losses, no conference standings hierarchy...

This post is bad, and you should feel bad.

Why not rank them like the nfl does? It takes most of the subjectivity out of the discussion. Yes there will be years where some conferences are more powerful, but it’s all cyclical, just like the NFL divisions and conferences.

This is really dumb.

Under this scenario, why would any Power 5 conference team schedule another decent OOC game under any circumstance. Everyone would be better off scheduling as many OOC cupcake games as possible.

Well the committee has made it clear that they will only allow 30 of those teams ever actually make it no matter what they do because of the "eye test" and an ever changing set of requirements to get in

Simple: at least one of your OOC games must be against P5 conference teams. Aren’t they already enforcing this or about to?

Because that's not how this works.

The NFL has 16 teams per conference, and ranks each conference 1-16 based on record. They also just so happen to play over half of their schedule against said conference (6 division games, 4 games against an in-conference division). Over a quarter of the conference makes the playoffs.

You are ranking 10 teams out of 128, and only 4 go the playoff. The chances that any of those 10 teams plays each other is pretty small. It's not as simple as "oh, let's rank them based on win/loss percentage". One team is playing 12/128 teams, instead of 13/30.

Not saying I agree with his ranking, but strength of schedule would come into play when two teams have the same record.
