How ridiculous does Bama at 1 and FSU at 3 look now?

This has nothing to do with what will happen in the playoff. FSU was undefeated, Bama lost to a shitty Ole Miss team, granted they were healthy at the time.

After bowl results so far, it looks like Clemson and Georgia Tech are better wins than any on Bama's schedule.

When did football turn into figure skating? Obviously we have additional information now, but ranking Bama and Oregon ahead of FSU at the time was pure self indulgent bullshite. The committee wanted to prove it knew there was more to football than winning games.

FSU might lose to Oregon by 50, but being ranked third while undefeated was crap.

Debating two one-loss teams is subjective. But undefeated in a power 5 and one loss are not up for debate. It's not as if Bama was super impressive in all their wins. Arkansas and LSU were just as bad as FSU verse ND, Louisville, or Miami.

I can't think of a single justification for FSU behind Bama that holds water.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

Georgia Tech and Clemson simply did not look as good all year as they did in the bowl games.

Not to mention all the other teams they struggled heavily with.

What else did you expect when you let a handful of people decide who makes over playing it out on the field like everyone other sport? People will always have bias/agendas, scoreboards don't.

Self-fulfilling prophecy at some level. They repeat the mantra over and over until collectively everyone believes that FSU was lucky and Bama is good.

Both teams are deserving, but if roles were reversed an undefeated Bama would be #1.

That's why the playoff should expand in my opinion. Have every power 5 conference champion make the playoffs. No way to make a definitive argument as to who is actually better when not everyone plays each other.

It was a simple solution, but they went away from it...

Leave the 4 BCS games intact and base the playoff off of that. So basically an 8 team playoff with two additional weeks added. Easy fricking solution.

as much as I hate to say this....the bowl games don't prove anything except for the play-off games.

Every year there are always big upsets in bowl games, even at the BCS level. No one knows the mindset of these coaches or kids during bowl preparations.

Secondly, the rest of the football world hates the SEC and everyone is out to knock us off the mountain. Notre dame, TCU and GT came ready to play..... The secw did not.

I hate that a bowl result nowadays is a referendum on football conferences.

Why do you sheep have to overreact to everything?

Totally disagree, the only team that I could say didn't come ready to play was Ole Miss. Miss State was definitely ready to play and played with some fire against Georgia Tech, they just had few answers for the triple option. Take away the Hail Mary and Fumble call and that game could have been worse.

LSU looked ready to play as well. Just lost a really close game against a Notre Dame team that made some really good plays.

The SEC West, while still a strong division, just simply the unstoppable monster they were hyped up to be.

I agree with you but it has nothing to do with the performance of a couple of teams in relatively meaningless bowl games.

In fact the SEC is still faring better than the ACC in Bowl games overall.

I was all for a playoff system...they fricked up royally by putting a damn committee in charge of it...Bama at one is laughable.

Well technically the BCS was 2/3's committee 1/3 computer - (it used to be half and half but they had to change that because it got a team from Louisiana to a title game)

But I get what you are saying. I think the coach's and harris polls overall are better at picking rankings than the CFP committee.

But it was so nice when the SEC was 3-0. Now, now I'm the laughing stock of my friends. I shall never poke my head above ground again.

This. Some people need to start pumping the brakes. I would never argue that Georgia Tech is better than any of Bama's wins. We've gotten better as the season went on while Miss St, Ole Miss, and A&M got worse. (maybe Auburn too)

what difference does it make if they are #1 or #3? who cares, they still got in.
