First off, I don't think there's going to be a full length season. They might get started but I don't see it finishing. However, if some conferences do finish a full season, has it been said if/that X amount of conferences will have to finish a full season to have a playoff as we currently know it?

Pretty simple. If you play your schedule, you should be considered for any postseason that will happen. If you cancel your season, which there have been rumors about with the Big 10, some other schools already cancelling, then you obviously aren't eligible. As far as having a playoff and championship game, that might not happen. But the polls will still want to crown a champion.

But has the NCAA made a determination yet? That was what I was alluding to. Surely the NCAA isn't going to recognize a national champion if only two or three conferences complete their seasons. But hey, it's the NCAA so they just might.

If one or more P5 conferences cancel, any national champion should be remembered with an asterisk. The NC would still be perfectly valid, with or without a playoff, in my opinion.

I think I may need to qualify that statement. Say the Big XII is the only conference that plays 10 games, and Oklahoma goes 9-1. The other 4 P5 conferences play between 0-5 games. Oklahoma has the best season in the country and would deserve to be called the 2020 national champions. Fans of every other conference still get to "Yeah, but..." for the next 25 years.

This needs a further explanation by you. There's a big arse trophy at LSU that says otherwise.

Actually, it's not any more since it's now determined on the field rather than a voting booth.
