usually, they are good enough for about a 5-8 seed in the tournament, but damn they are beating the shite out of teams this year.

anyone see them play yet?

I called them basketball's Boise State a few weeks ago, and 75% of the replies were not kind. I love the guy who looks like Tim Lincecum, though.

I think it's a very fair comparison. But they are like a top-notch version of Boise, not this past year's team.

If there was an NCAA tournament in football, I bet the best Kellen Moore or Jared Zabranskey teams could have made the Elite 8 or maybe even the Final 4 with some breaks, but they wouldn't have won it all. Same goes for this year's Gonzaga team.

I think they have 3 low-level NBA players (maybe 4 if Karnowski develops in a few years, but he is a role player this year). They've had better teams in the past, I think, but this is one of Few's top 3 squads.

His best squad flamed out in the 2nd round.

I don't trust the zags when they're favorites.

It was cool in the early 90's when nobody on the East knew about them except for us west coasters but once the zags got the target on their back in the tourney they haven't been the same.

I think his best group was the 08-09 team with Heytveldt, Daye, Bouldin, Jeremy Pargo. Think they made the Sweet 16.

Morrison's freshman year?

I think the 05-6 team was better

Good enough to do what Butler couldn't.

They're good enough to deserve a 2 seed, but based on record are getting a #1.

They'll choke in the sweet 16 like they always do.

They rarely make it as far as the Sweet 16

I just remember the last time they were a high seed and blew that game against UCLA in 06.

They are solid but a team like Michigan with good guard play will take them down. I expect the NCAA Tournament to be nuts this year so who knows with this squad and who they draw in their bracket.

They are a solid team, but I just see them getting upset in the 2nd round. I can't put my finger on why but I just think they are in line to have a tourney collapse

They might be scary come March Madness though. They are light years better than they were in the beginning of the year and it's not only because they are playing lesser competition.

Butler made the championship game twice. Gonzaga has never made it past the Elite 8.

The real question people should be asking is why is no one talking about the best team in the A10, St Louis University.

Because they are a small team who cannot rebound. They will not make it very far.

Maybe.

I always thought it was their 2003-04 squad (28-3) - No. 2 seed - lost in the round of 32.

Blake Stepp, Kyle Bankhead, Errol Knight, Cory Violette, Rony Turiaf

Key reserves: Sean Mallon, Adam Morrison, Derek Raivio

i think this year's team is their best ever. i really do. they are gonna get a 1 seed so that will help them get to the sweet 16 almost for sure. from there it will be interesting but they are actually pretty damn good.

Not many teams have the size they do, but they can be had by good guard play (see Brandon Paul, Illinois). Depending on match-ups they could be a Sweet 16 loser or in the Final Four.

I'm a fan of this team but I have a very hard time imagining them winning it all.
