I mean, didn’t BR already have enough sports talk show hosts? I can rattle off names like Jimmy Ott, Lee Feinswog, Richard Condon, and many I probably don’t remember.

Just wondering how the market can sustain another sports jockey.

He’s good. Don’t get me wrong. Just wondering what was wrong with the other guys. Is Matt really that much better? Does he have connections?

Because all the talented people are posting on message boards in the afternoon. No competition.

Did Lee do radio? He's had that tv show for year but I don't remember much radio recently. Condon is trash so he burns out and gets run off.
BR didn't have many that would be considered a fresh voice besides Moscona. I mean, I haven't heard Songy in years but I bet he's said in the last week that we won't know about the LSU offense until we see under the bikini.

Didn’t condon give moscona his start in radio? I wanna say they had a show together about 7-8 years ago.

That was always his favorite line. Definitely gave a creepy vibe

The last time that I regularly listened to Baton Rouge sports talk, I was in my mid 20’s. Listened to a guy named Bruce Hunter and John Fine ? Don’t know where those guys went ? Anyway, the internet and TD came along, so I have more sports info than I need.

Moscona has an ego. I figured that out in day one. I don’t waste my time on him.

For a city like BR Moscona is pretty damn good

He has a solid radio voice, stays on topic, and does well with interviews

You can disagree with his opinions, but he is a pretty damn good radio host for a market like BR

He is so much better than many on this board give him credit for. I just chalk it up to jealousy.

I agree with this. I like his show for the most part.

He knows how to market himself as evidenced by his expansion to NOLA and to Cox TV. He also does a good job on air, handles interviews really well, and gives good commentary.

Moscona is better than anyone BR has on its sports airwaves. BY FAR. The hate for the guy is weird.

This sums it up pretty well. He runs a smooth show. Does things well that people take for granted like segways, coming in and out of commercial breaks, speaking clearly and making concise points. He does this as well as any seasoned pro. People in BR will always bitch about the local radio guys.

Scona can annoy the shite out of me, but I think some under estimate how tough it is to do 3 hours a day in this market abd not be caller driven

Moscona was the producer for Condons afternoon show on 1045, probably 8-9 years ago. Then he and Innes started an hour long show after Condon then I guess management realized pretty quickly that Moscona was halfway talented and Innes is a loser.

So after Condon was inevitably canned, they put Moscona in there. This was still 2-3 years before Sports Today

Btw, the initial trio of Hanny, Ott, and piece of shite Ponamsky was so terrible.

He’s the most talented in br & Nola markets

Comfortable on air. Knowledgeable. Edgy enough
