Why not fire Krause for spewing all the BS in the middle of a great run?? Unbelievable that a man like that could ruin something so incredible

Krause was a cock but it’s also important to remember that this is Jordan’s story and his version of how everything happened. He didn’t like Krause from the start and made him the villain in his own story, so of course he’s getting most of the blame. His relationship with Reinsdorf didn’t sour until the very end of his time in Chicago.

How do think they could afford Jordan at 36m or whatever and pay Pippen what he was worth. The only reason they could afford to pay all those solid players was for Pippen to get screwed. If they tried to go another year but paid Pippen what he was worth, they would not have been able to keep most of those role players.

they were in pretty good shape. Jordan made a LOT of money his last couple years, like 30 mil per after being amongst the highest paid at like 4-5 mil before that. the league had gotten a new TV deal and revenues spiked.

there was a cap but no max salary and no luxury tax. you could basically re-sign your own vets to whatever if you had their Bird Rights.

Reinsdorf is known to be loyal to his front office guys, often to a fault. Just look how long it took for Gar Forman to be fired. Kenny Williams has served in different roles for the White Sox for over 25 years, and the current GM Rick Hahn has been with the club for nearly 20.

Reinsdorf wasn't going to fire Krause considering how successful the franchise had become, and he trusted his vision moving forward without MJ and the others.
