Charlie Pallilo and Joel Blank just said James Harden is just an average shooter and they are right. If you look at his 3 point percentage he is average, maybe a little above average. They also went on to say the Klay Thompson is a far better shooter than James. I am sure all the James Harden worshipers in Houston are blowing up the phone lines right now .

Yeah, no shite Klay Thompson is a better 3-point shooter.

And Harden is a good 3-point shooter. He takes much more difficult shots than a league average player.

That’s called an opinion.

The marketing for truth on social media is out of control.

I'm not a Harden fan, but the thing is maintaining accuracy at higher volume.

It's hard to create a lot of shots for yourself and still be efficient.

You got to consider shot type when looking at fg%. You always gotta dig deeper.

For the most extreme example deandre Jordan shoots close to at times 70% but he is a horrendous shooter.

Fg% is not always indicative of how good of a shooter someone is.

In hardens case, he is taking unassisted 3s exclusively. That means they are almost always contested and always off the dribble. He doesn’t get those wide open or catch and shoot looks that other players get that boost their %s. Well unless he makes his man fall down like he is wont to do. The hosts need to learn to dig deeper.

I don't think even the biggest Houston homers would argue that James is a better 3-point shooter than Klay Thompson.

This isnt exactly breaking news.

It seems like this is so obvious, it shouldn’t even have to mentioned.

Klay is a better shooter than Harden but you aren't giving him enough credit. It's much easier shooting off the catch than off the dribble. Volume is also important.

Thompson is one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. His percentages would also be lower if he was taking the types of shots Harden takes

I'll wait for the Travis Gregory Stano podcast on this subject before I formulate an opinion.

HardL has always been a mediocre shooter, this is nothing new, just his volume changed.

TGS had Abraham Steinblatt on his podcast the other day, after taking a deep dive on the Plandemic they decided to discuss a little hoops.

Abe offered up a low IQ MSBish take that any number of guards in the NBA could play the way James does and he’s nothing special. Par for the course for Abe IMO

Maybe he's also exhausted from taking so many steps before he shoots.

nba started there.
syracuse and rochester both won an nba championship.

syracuse franchise moved to phila after phila moved to sf.

Rochester moved to Cincinnati which moved to kc which morphed to omaha/kc, back to kc and then to sacramento.

The statistic about Harden making more free throws than field goals absolutely blows my mind. That would be like the equivalent of a baseball player having more walks than hits for his career. Just unfathomable.
