Texas Rangers playing in 110 degrees this weekend. Could break record for Rangers as hottest game ever.

Anyone remember St. Louis or Cincinnati back in their old ballparks with AstroTurf? Some of these games had field temperatures of 125-130 degrees.

Sunday afternoon game in either Fulton county Stadium or Turner Field.
Seats in the sun were brutal.

Probably a late season LSU game, sitting in RF staring right at the sun for half the game.

An august game in stl on average is about 98 with 70% humidity . Sucks.

Went to a Braves and Reds game at Cinergy in the mid/late 90s when they measured the turf at 152 degrees. Jeff Blauser even claimed that his cleats began to melt. I don't remember who the catcher was for the Reds, but he had to leave the game because of heat exhaustion.

There was a vendor that would make one pass through a section and would sell out of the minute maid frozen lemonades before he made it to the front row. I'm certain my Dad bought 15 of those things that day.

Miserable... Maddux was dealing though.

I was at the hottest game in Braves history in 2012 at opening pitch, 106 degrees (hottest day in Atlanta history) vs. the Nats on Sunday afternoon.

Had to buy water to pour on the seats before you could sit down. Strasburg lasted 2 innings and said frick it.

I once went to a Charleston RiverDogs game at noon in July. I left before the end of the 3rd inning.

Come on now, you only need to go to the Thirsty Thursday mystery beer nights and sit in GA at Riverdogs games.

Or should I say Charleston Boiled Peanuts?

Had a group that I split Braves season tix with and I soon found out shortly why EVERYONE passed on Sunday games...didn't make that mistake again.

All I know is the Raiders sure as hell aren't holding their training camp in Vegas unless they want to practice all day in 110 heat in August.

I was pretty young but remember the old Arlington stadium in summer, 1980.

There were 69 100+ days that summer... including a couple of 113 scorchers.

Those metal bleachers in the outfield.

1995, Zephyr's game at U.N.O. it was easily 99 degrees at 9:00 that night, with the typical 100% humidity. It was unusual because there was, for once, NO breeze off of the lake. We were leaving for Disney the next morning and decided to catch a ball game.

Not as brutal as in the sun, but one would normally expect a reprieve after sunset. :nope:

All the games were during the day, or at least 2 of the 3 were. The Zephyrs had night games already in place, so that's how it went down. No idea why someone didn't make them switch though...it's not like anyone was going to the Zephyr games and those Super games were all VERY sold out.

I was playing in a minor league stadium one time, pitching in July. It was like 130 on the mound. I had to put a cold towel on my neck between batters.

When I was a kid visiting family in Atlanta I went to a game at Turner.......absolute nightmare fuel. Still vividly remember the misery
