me either. I thought the teams were just selected by the captains and could be anyone.

I know the last couple of years you didn't need to be, don't know if they reversed that this year

The captains had some unwritten rule to use all stars

Pedro Alvarez should have been in the Derby.

I was guessing Beltran would be in it since he made the team, but I never knew how the teams were actually picked.

How the NL isn't Wright, Harper, Alvarez and Goldy is beyond me.

Would have loved to have seen Stanton in being a Marlins fan, his batting practice is one of the most impressive things I've seen in sports. But missing a month from injury probably did help his odds of making it

Hopefully Harper backs out with his knee issue.

Should have been Goldy, Alvarez, or Dom Brown over Cuddyer. Just stupid.

First, the captain thing annoys me so Wright would be out, which then removes his BFF Cuddyer.

Second, while this is a contest, this thing is more for entertainment. Would you rather see some guy hit 15-18 homeruns that barely make it over the fence or guys that will hit 10-11 bombs? I go for the latter and that takes out CarGo.

Which only leaves Bryce for the NL

NL:
Bryce
Pedro Alvarez
Stanton
Puig (appeals to his recent rise and I would be willing to bet he can hit bombs)

Replacements (In case of injuries or someone dropping out):

Jay Bruce
Hunter Pence (BP entertainment)
Justin Upton
Chris Carter (Another BP show)

The AL team is not bad. While he is the captain (which I dislike), he is also the defending champ so Cano is in to repeat. Davis is a shoe-in along with Miggy if he stays in. Fielder is a solid one but replaceable.

AL:
Cano
Davis
Miggy
Adam Dunn

Replacements:
Fielder
Mark Trumbo
Encarnacion
Mark Reynolds
Mike Napoli

Again, I'm in the "entertainment" side of the argument and would want to see how far these guys can send a baseball, even if I lose 4-5 homers from each player that hits more but just go over the fence

Guessing this is Pence?

Evidence #1
Evidence #2

And there's plenty of more articles that point out his batting practice homeruns. Also, anyone else that has watched him live like me, can attest to these claims that he puts on a show
