Sorry you weren't taught basic life lessons as a kid.
Another hasty conclusion drawn by someone who can't comprehend that teachers aren't supposed to hit students in the head.

Judging by your posts, it isn't hasty. It's educated based on the substance of your posts. Quite the opposite of hasty.

You've assumed that I was bullied and not taught basic life lessons. You COULD just debate the issue, but for some reason you feel the need to imagine things about my personal life that you couldn't possibly know so that you could present them as fact and feel comfortable about your idiotic stance on the issue.

You are wrong; I am right. This is not a matter of opinion, but one of fact. Slapping on the head is something masters do to slaves, not what coaches do to players.

So a coach should never touch a player under any circumstance?

Not what I said. You can read my posts again. Thanks.

Let's say during practice a kid lines up in the wrong spot and the coach grabs him by the arm and moves him to the right spot...is that physical abuse? serious question.

Show me a video.

If a coach hits my kid, my kid had damn well better hit him back.

Life lesson: don't let insecure punks hit you.

Life lesson 2: leaders don't rely on violence or intimidation to get their point across.

Dont have a video but picture this.

A player lines up wrong so the coach grabs him by the back neck of his shoulder pads and moves him 5 yards to the correct spot. the player gets off balanced and stumbles a little bit.

Is that physical abuse?

Coach...not the same.

I can assure you that I didn't present then in order to feel more comfortable about my idiotic stance on the issue. I presented my educated opinion for the purpose of further explaining why you are pussy and can't see the difference in coaches and teachers.

This is a matter of fact? So, supply the empirical proof that gives fact to this opinion.

Just a point of observation, your lack of denial about being bullied and not being taught essential life lessons as a kid is interesting. It definitely gives reason to your opinion on the issue, and why you can't see the other side. Your protecting yourself. It's ok. I actually feel sorry for people like you.

If the coach has to hit your son in the helmet, there is something you didn't teach him as a father.

The only exception would be actual abuse, in which the coach would get fired, and we wouldn't be having this argument. But in that case, he is paying attention and actually listening to his coach, not fiddledicking around.

You honestly think insecurity is the source?

I agree with lesson number 2, unless its needed. If the kid is being a dumbfrick, he needs to be taught a lesson on respect.

Rome wasn't built by saying please. And don't read that literally, you know what I'm saying.

Yes.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in Austria. So was Adolf Hitler. I just compared Arnold to Hitler. Things that are very different can have a single thing in common. Don't make stupid posts like this anymore.

Not a big deal, but coaches should leave that stuff on the practice field. It doesn't do much good during a game but show the player up and make the coach look like a d-bag.

I am debating the issue. I'm also reaching out to try and help you. I'm sorry.

I'm only getting personal because your personal opinion is what you are spewing.

Actually believe as fact the things I imagine? Yea, the majority of the US and I both do.

A troll? No. You would fit that definition more closely, considering that only you and one other in this thread can't see the light.

There's a suspicious amount of pushback on the whole "coaches shouldn't hit kids in the head" thing.

Real men can get their point across without hitting kids in the head. If you can't do that, you're struggling with some things, and you probably shouldn't be working with children.

I've struck a nerve with you, and you're trying to hide that behind material that is irrelevant to this issue.

A coach shouldn't hit a player in the head for two reasons:
A) it can be described as abusive
B) a kid shouldn't be learning that this behavior is ok. If he grows up thinking that this is acceptable, imagine who he might also treat this way when he's a grown man.

How about this?: no coaches hitting kids in the head.

We can agree on this, correct?
