Well, technically, yes since it's a public University funded by taxpayers monies.

I don't know how he'll manage coaching the whole state.

Are you guys so triggered that you have to derail the subject of a thread because someone didn't call the school your not even a fan of by it's official name in a tweet?
"Louisiana" is not the school's official name, it's the moniker by which the athletic program wants to be identified. Wants.

Is it too late for ASU to fire Herm and restart the coaching search?

You may want to reread my post. I said it wasn't the official name of the school.

These threads are great. People come in and make fun of ULL so they come in mad as frick and try to say the people making fun of them are triggered.

Which campus? That's the name of a statewide system.

Damn people... it isn’t funny... get over yourselves.
Prolly didn’t even go to LSU...

Everyone knows that ULL can only compete in 2 sports and that’s it. They aren’t trying to be LSU in football as much as you think they are. You are just as retarded as their retarded fans... let it go man.

If there ever was a place for “muh”

Not really. I don't care if we get called ULL, ULaLa, UL, UL-L, etc by you guys. It's just crazy how ULL was a secondary aspect to this entire thread, yet was overrun by people making the same old joke because someone used a name they didn't like. I was looking forward to a discussion on the shitstorm at ASU

Why the frick did Arizona State hire Herm Edwards anyway? That job seemed tailor-made for Kevin Sumlin. He was good at recruiting Arizona, seems like an easy sell to the fan base, the expectations would be lower and you wouldn't have to play Alabama, LSU and Auburn every year.

It's a good question. I suspect the answer lies in ASU's obsession with being the "innovative university of the 21st century."

ASU President Michael Crow, in particular, probably had this vision of the head coach as CEO in mind quite a while ago. I could see most coaches, like Sumlin, saying "no way." Herm Edwards, who probably doesn't have a strong desire to be involved in the day-to-day details of recruiting and coaching at this point, was likely the individual most willing to accept ASU's vision.

It's like they were trying to have the new cutting-edge "moneyball" type of idea that would make them a powerhouse. And it's just blowing up in their face so bad

Herm will go the retread route I'm sure. What are Norm Chow and Joe Lee Dunn doing?

I'm surprised that ASU's board of trustees didn't try to block the hire.

You know you can't block the hiring of a black man.

That, coupled with the fact their AD limited the potential candidates for his "CEO" to ONLY black men made this a recipe for disaster. Why limit your potential choices strictly based on skin color? That aside, I suspect many of the GOOD coaches on staff think the idea is incredibly stupid and are looking to get the hell out before their stock as coaches tank.

It will be interesting to see who they hire to replace the OC/DC. Will those only be limited to black candidates as well?
