Mark Rypien looks like a steal.

What's crazy was that he was so low on the list. Was this list prior to or after his Superbowl MVP?

Couple years prior to the Super Bowl run, but he had his first pro bowl season in his first year as a starter in 1989. Had injury issues prior to that and never played. Redskins gave him 3 year/9 mil dollar contract after that super bowl and his play fell off almost immediately. Don’t think he ever had a shot at free agency during his prime, as it wasn’t a thing until 93 I believe

A lot of longevity on that list. Rodney Peete isat the bottom and yet he still played into the early 2000s.

This is a load crap & you couldn't be more wrong.
Tell that to Bill Belichick LINK

" His( Paul Brown ) Offensive mind & the West Coast Offense that really should be called the ' Ohio River Offense ' that Walsh took out of there"... Bill Belichick

" I would say that the possession passing game & the balance he( Brown) brought to the Offense when he cane to Cincinnati.....You can pass the ball for 5 or 6 yards & that's a good play"

Bellichick & Parcells agree with me & even the name " West Coast Offense " was created by Parcells mocking this supposed new Offense in San Fran.

The 91 Redskins were a machine.

Probably one of the 4-5 best teams to ever take the field in the NFL. That was a steamroller of dominance. The average score of a Redskins game that year was 30-14 (a staggering number in the NFL), their two losses were by a combined five points, and none of their playoff games were close.

That was a fun team to watch, and Joe Gibbs (whom I agree is one of the best ever to coach in the NFL) had them firing on all cylinders.

They also kind of fell into a good spot as they were peaking. Their real rivals for the NFC:

Dallas: Handed them one of their two losses on the whole year, and their win over the Cowboys was by only 3 pts. Jimmy Johnson's plan was coming together, only problem in '91 was that Aikman hadn't truly taken the reigns at QB, and Steve Beuerlein was out performing him during some important stretches. The following season the Cowboys would really start their dominant run from 92-96.

NYG: Off a Super Bowl win where they had a dominating defense and good ball control offense. Bill Parcells retired after the win, and DC Bill Belichick moved on to be head coach of the Browns (with Nick Saban as his DC). New HC Ray Handley decided Jeff Hostelter should be the starting QB over Phil Simms. That team had potential to continue it winning ways of contending for SBs, but it fell apart quickly.

49ers: New starting QB Steve Young, who at times was outplayed by Steve Bono. Non-existent running game, and defense trying to "re-find" itself. Finished the season with 6 straight wins, offense ranked 3rd in scoring and defense ranked 4th in points given up, but they missed out on the playoffs at 10-6. I still believe to this day (as I watched that whole season play out), that if that 49er team had been able to get into the playoffs, that Redskins playoff run wouldn't have been so dominant. They'd have had a real fight on their hands vs. SF if those two had met that post season.

I wish the Skins would have played the Niners. The Skins were screwed over the year before in the playoffs against them. The worst officiated game I have ever seen in my life. Skins wanted payback for that game. That is why they were so focused.

That Niners team was flawed and got exposed the next week against the Giants who just beat them down physically. The blueprint was out on them after that. They had to rebuild/reload. They wouldn't have to stood a chance against the Skins that year..
