Right, multiply by 2.6. So Montana’s salary is around 6.6 million in 2021 money.

Look at that completion percentage by Montana compared to the rest of the league. He’s in Brady/Brees/Rodgers range in a year when everyone else is struggling to get to 60.

He was in the original dink and dunk offense. The west coast offense was the first to not just say “run, run, frick it throw it deep”
Would love to see his air yards per attempt compared to others

Isn't that a result of the 49ers running their West Coast offense? Did they even try long passes in that offense, which would have resulted in lower completion percentages?

He did lead the league that year in avg yards per attempt and TD%.

No clue about avg yards in the air per pass.

Of course passes were attempted in that offense. As often as other teams? Maybe not.

Look at those Houston run and shoot offenses, though, whole lot of shot passes compared to long passes as well.

Has nothing to do with length or difficulty of pass

Agree. Which is why I never made that claim.

1 million invested in the Dow in 1990 would be worth more than 22 million right now. That's with it sliding into hell. Peak a year ago about 34.

Not to mention property prices.

Anyone with a lick of sense is doing just fine

Must’ve been a nice life for NFL front offices pre-free agency
