Yesterday the Lakers were up by 1 on the Blazers with 30 seconds left when Westbrook clanked a jumper with 17 seconds left on the shot clock. Lebron and AD weren't pleased.

Ham benched Westbrook but the Lakers lost by 2. When asked about it Ham said:

"We don't have time for feelings or people being in their feelings. Like, we're trying to turn this thing around. For one person to be in their feelings about when and where and how they should be in the game, I don't have any time for that."

They should pay him not to play like the Rockets did with Wall

That's not what happened. In fact, that quote was from before yesterday's game. What happened is worse, Lakers were cruising to a victory, up 8 with 4 min to go while Westbrook was on the bench. Ham inexplicably subbed Westbrook in and the Lakers offense died.

You mean how LeBron and AD were strolling and taking their time back up the court?

He was open and they couldn’t run out the clock. He played the 2 for 1 and in some sense it was smart basketball. Lakers and Ham are just trying to make excuses and put the blame on Westbrook.

I guess if you live long enough, your allegiances change. I used to love the ShowTime Lakers in the 80's with Magic, Kareem, et al. Now I root for those assholes to go 0-82.

Yeah that's what I get for relying on ESPN for the info. I just watched the postgame press conference and Ham's biggest problem was Westbrook taking a jumper instead of going to the rim. The quick shot was because Ham wanted the 2 for 1.

Yeah, they should tell him to go home until they can find a trade, but frame it as they are protecting him as the situation disintegrates (even though everyone knows otherwise).

I hope they don't though

Lol in no way is anything about that play smart basketball.

If you are up by 1 and can run the clock down to 5-6 seconds you run the clock and try and get a quality shot. Not rush to take a shitty mid range jumper.

If he had an easy layup that would be a different story.

why would you “play the two for one” when you are winning?

Westbrook is gonna pull the Constanza. As long as he shows up, he’s gonna keep getting paid.

And I don’t blame him

Russell Westbrook has made 3 of 17 jump shots this season.

Also, he is the only player that has attempted a jump shot with under 30 seconds to go and 15+ seconds left on the shot clock with their team up by 1 possession in the last 4 seasons.

I’m guessing they weren’t expecting him to go full retard and fire off a shot like that
