It seems like every week we get some really hard games to watch in primetime, tonight being no exception. Additionally on Sundays, we have a lot of sloppy play and extremely questionable coaching decisions (just look at Ravens/Bengals and Chargers/Browns last week). And this is all being compounded by horrific refereeing. Even Tom Brady has said the quality of football is bad and I agree with him.

Some bad games like every year. I don't think it's any different

Need to go back to COVID year when offenses were unstoppable.

FWIW Thursday Night games have historically been shitshows.

Thursday games are an embarrassing cash grab. Please bring back the old weekly football schedule.

Thursday and Saturday - CFB
Friday - High school
Sunday and Monday - NFL

I think it has. People still tune in because of legalized gambling and fantasy teams.

If it weren't for that, there's not much worth watching about the NFL until the playoffs start.

I agree and I have never been a TNF fan but it seems like Amazon wants it to be a serious thing. It won't if we keep getting garbage games

I agree but I also think players are pacing themselves after the addition of another game to a 17 game season.

It is going to be like the NBA. No one gives it there all until the playoffs.

We also get games like Chiefs/Bills, Mahomes vs Allen in the playoffs last year, one of the best games in modern NFL history. You can say it was bad defense or coaching, sure, but all I saw was some very talented teams in a wildly entertaining game.

Other teams just suck and it’s not fun to watch them play.

I gave up Fantasy football about 4 or 5 years ago, that is when I knew I was over NFL.

Every time I've been to an NFL regular season game, most of the people in the crowd are playing attention to their fantasy team than the ones on the field.

i've gotten to the point where I don't mind if the NFL sucks arse because frick Roger Goodell and all those twisted bastards in the league office.

i'll pull for the Saints BUT i think it's hilarious that Amazon gets the shite end of the stick two weeks in a row.

hell, if either those games were played on a Sunday they would still suck.

Quality declines when you hamstring the players.

Either play football yes, or play football no. Can't have a league of guess-so and entertain the fans.

The quality is there...its just the players can't use all of their ability due to penalties being called for random tackles.

The sport is not remotely the same from the entertainment of the 80's/90s.

I think another reason is that teams don’t really “practice” anymore.

they really don't.

I once got blasted on here for stating that the game would fall off because guys wouldn't tackle/hit as often during practice.

The responses I got were "Well they are Pros, do you think they'll just forget how to tackle? LOL!! Dumbass."

To which I was like yeah, you know a QB should just stop throwing at practice, he's a Pro he knows what to do.

I think its safe to assume that, since the turn of the century, if you looked at an NFL schedule and saw Washington vs Chicago you could be assured of getting a dogshit football game.
