"I’m actually far from cleaning out my division. I feel like there may be guys that are even better than me coming into the UFC. Proof that there’s tough guys in the division is Demian Maia right now... (the fight’s) going to be a big challenge for me. My goal is still to put on as many great fights in the UFC, as many victories as I can throughout the three divisions -- middleweight, light heavyweight and possibly heavyweight. Heavyweight is definitely something I have in mind. It’s in my plans ... My biggest motivation is to be the champion of the UFC, the biggest event in the world. I feel right at home in the UFC; everyone who makes the UFC circus move makes me feel right at home and very comfortable. I’m very happy with where I’m at. I love being the champion, that it makes me happy and motivates me to get the training and getting back into the Octagon."

There's some real lop-sided title fights these days:
Fedor/Werdum
BJ/Edgar
GSP/Hardy
Spider/Maia
Hendo/Shields
Am I missing anything?

Spider/maia isn't that lopsided. He's got a legit shot if he gets Anderson in a favorable position on the ground, which is entirely possible
that being said, spider by TKO, rd. 1

all of these will unfortunately not make it past round one with the one exception of Hardy

Damn, no shite.
If you put a gun to my head and I had to pic one upset, I would say Hendo/Shields I guess.
Shields is a natural Welterweight too.

Wow, no shite. If I had to guess one upset, I'll go with Maia over Silva. That being said, I expect everyone on the left side to win.

edgar will atleast be able to put up a worthy fight before probably being crushed. He outboxed Sherk who stood with BJ for 3 or 4 rounds.
Posted on 3/24/10 at 6:12 pm to Maximus
True. He did easily beat Sherk standing up. I don't know if Sherk won a round. Maybe Shields can pull a sub on Hendo.
Speaking of Shields, If he were to come over after the Hendo fight where does everyone think he would shake out in the 170 mess? Good enough to earn a shot at GSP or would get lost in the shuffle? Hasn't lost since 2004, has wins over Okami, Condit, Daley, Lawler, Mayhem.

probably similar to Fitch. Worse standup but better submissions. I think he subbed Fitch in a grappling match and beat Diego in one, not that thats a perfect translation to mma or anything.
He could get killed if a guy like Alves or Koscheck could stop his takedowns though.

Anyone wanna bet GSP sports a pinstriped suit to the press conference?

Why even wear a suit when you sport a red-highlighted mohawk? Seriously.
Posted on 3/24/10 at 7:57 pm to etm512
the red mohawk is not nearly as offensive as his Joe Dirt stubble
