Insane that they were on the same HS team. It's not like they came from some big city either. They both come from small towns in West Virginia. Incredible.

Loved watching the guy, but he was a turnover machine and the Kings didn’t become legit contenders until they traded him for Bibby.

He was a very entertaining player and one of the most flashy passers I've ever seen. But is there anything more trashy than having knuckle tats that say "whiteboy"?

No one has ever said he was a great basketball player. He was fun to watch.

He did shoot 38% from 3 in 2006 when he won a title with the Heat, and that was playing 30+mpg taking 5 threes a game, so i wouldn't say he's a terrible shooter. He's always been a good shooter, he just normally took stupid shots when he first came in the league.

Oh come now, come now. Even he will say straight up that he wasn't a prolific scorer. And I'll say that some of the best passers in the game also suffered higher turnover rates, partly due to the fact that their own teammates sometimes got caught off guard by virtue of not seeing the floor as well as them.

He pulled off an odd transition. He was overrated with the Kings because he was flashy. They got a lot better when they traded him for Bibby.

Then, with Memphis and Miami, he actually became a little underrated. His efficiency got better, he learned better shot selection and his turnovers stayed under 2 per game.

He just wasn't as hyped up at those spots, so people missed how he transitioned from all flash, no substance into a decent PG.

Met him in Houston during pregame shoot around, when he was playing for the Kings. He called me onto the court and signed my program. Security jumped his arse. LOL he gave them smart arse country baw response.

There are many stories out about him being like this. Dude was loved by all in the game and fun as hell to play with. Chris Webber went to bat for him on Inside the NBA about best handles. Eviscerated the crew on set.

May never see another like him.
