Halftime interviews with coaches

The Erin Andrews thread got me thinking that, for the most part, the football sideline reporter is mostly an annoyance, IMO. Especially, the quick halftime interviews with the coaches as they are heading off of the field. The questions are lame, the answers are canned, the coaches are annoyed, and the interviewer looks like a jerk.
Did Erin Andrews do any other sports reporting besides the halftime/sideline stuff? If so, I don't remember it. She's easy on the eyes, but I could not care less if she is on ESPN or Fox or any other sports show.
All sideline reporters are useless in football.

No, I love the funny ones that take place. Ex. John L Smith a few years back and Joe Kines are fricking gold.

Agreed, halftime interviews and especially NBA in-game interviews, are pointless.

They are good for giving quick information from the sideline when a key player gets injured. Other than that...

Some of them are pretty entertaining. I love they asks one question and the coach gives them his best polished coach speak, and then they follow up with essentially the same question. I think it is purposefully designed to piss the coach off.

You're right, halftime questions suck. They are usually obvious questions that require very obvious answers. But I do like how quick they are able to give updates on injuries that just occurred during the game. They usually update the viewers pretty quickly with that info, especially when it's a big time player, but that's about the only thing I like about sideline reporters. Does help when they're hot though.
