Props to Jerry for being a shrewd businessman and not giving into media pressure and agent to over pay.

Should've remembered that with Zeke's holdout

Looks he did remember that and it played into his decision not to crazy over pay for Dakota.

What’s the line for being greedy/not being greedy to you exactly?

Eh not proud but Jerry’s decision appears to have been correct in this instance.

Play it out and show me your worth $40 m a year if you don’t want $34m a year.

Greed will get you every time.

Every time

Imagine going on the internet crediting a decision based on a fluke injury after it happens. Jesus that’s dark.

Very insensitive OP but ultimately, you're not wrong.

First thing that popped into my head. That's why you want the long term deal.

I’d say being offered top 3 Qb money and not having won anything of note and rejecting the deal would be my line.

Yep that is my line.

I thought that was the main sticking point - Dak wanted 3 years and the Boys wanted 4.

He'll still get paid plenty but as soon as someone offers you an enormous amount of money you take it.

Nah it's pretty dumb. The argument for not paying him is that they're 1-3 and in a fight with the dogass Giants to not go 1-4 not that he might get injured. All the guys he did pay might get injured.

He will get the same offer this off-season. His injury is no where near career changing, especially for a QB.

Long-term deal, short-term deal nothing is guaranteed in the NFL beyond signing bonuses and incentives.

This isn't the NBA.

In a game as violent as this one, you take the money.

Especially if it’s $34 m a year and some stupid guarantee amount.

This is on Dak and agent thinking an extra $6m a year was going to change his lifestyle

His rejecting the deal was EGO and a dick measuring contest to see who had more money on paper amongst his peers.

The odds caught up to him today.

Prayers up to a speedy recovery and hopefully he can work back up to that original deal offered.

Unless he's getting his foot amputated, that deal will still be there next year.
