It's retarded. I love Westbrook and will defend him to anyone.

As a basketball fan, I hope OKC and Memphis play each other in the playoffs each year.
Hopefully next year in the conference finals.

If Memphis stays healthy, I'd be surprised if we're in a position to play a high seed early on next year. I guess it depends on the offseason, though.

As team as a whole, Memphis is right there with all the elite teams.
The problem IMO, is without more than 1 superstar (to me, Gasol is the only superstar on Memphis), the margin for error with injuries is almost nothing. If the Grizz lose Gasol, Conley, and/or ZBo, they struggle.
Teams like OKC, San Antonio, and Miami have the ability to still play really well even if they lose 1 of their elite players.
Don't know if Memphis should change anything, but that's the challenge they face.

What did Okc do last year when they lost one of their elite players?

Plus Miami was a sub .500 team down the stretch without D Wade.
Grizz won 50+ when Zbo missed majority of the 2012 season with a knee injury. They won 50 this year with major injuries to 3 of their top 8 players and that doesn't include the 10+ games Conley missed.

would have loved to see a memphis-miami series in the Wade/Lebron/Bosh era but looks like that will be blown up this summer

OKC could survive an injury to Westbrook because they have the best scorer in the world and the 2nd best player in the world. An injury to Durant would be devastating though. And look how much y'all struggled when Thabo and Perk got hurt this year.
San Antonio is the only team that is able to sustain their pace despite multiple key injuries because of the system Pop has built there.
We struggled so much without Gasol because we run our offense through him and he is the QB of our defense. They actually were playing some damn good basketball the 2 weeks before he got back because they were finally figuring out how to play with him.
The NBA didn't even give the Grizz early enough notice to let them practice without Zbo. The biggest issue with not having Zbo was tempo. The reason we had so much success during the rest of the series because we were able to slow the pace so much. Zbo draws so much attention on the offensive glass that it makes it more difficult to just run out after misses.

I'm just glad Durant finally played with a controlled anger in game 6. Was waiting all series to see him do it and he finally dug deep to pull off the wins with their backs to the wall.
Oh and by the way, my buddy told me he met and talked with Marc Gasol at the Skirvin hotel breakfast randomly before game 5. Said he couldn't have been a nicer/classier guy.

OKC played the vast majority of the year this year without that 2nd best player...and posted the 2nd best record in the NBA.
