Going to Army Navy game

So I got tickets for me and my father for the Army-Navy game this weekend since attending this has been on our bucket list for awhile. I was curious if any MSBers have gone and if so, what all should we do. We’ve both been to Philadelphia multiple times so we’ve been to all the local landmarks and such.
I’m also not sure when to get in the stadium since I’ve heard that the Cadets and Midshipmen march in around 3 hours before kickoff.

The pre-game festivities are just as good as the game. There’s usually some prominent political figures there so security is extra tight, creating longer lines to get in.

Our group goes every year. I’m having to fly up Saturday morning due to other travel.
But boatschooltiger should be along shortly to give details.

Awesome trip. I went a few years ago and it was the coldest game ive ever been to.(Philly) Go early, there are a lot of cadets hanging around before the game. Interesting to talk to. And they had a lot of military recruiting going on, so you can check out tanks , guns, etc. before the game. They even had an air craft carrier parked on the (Delaware?) River. Don't miss any of the pageantry, that's what makes this one great.
Ive been to ohio State/Michigan and Auburn/Alabama and this one is still my favorite.

I went when it was in Baltimore.. great experience.. Get to the area early and watch the cadets enter the stadium. Pretty cool watching them proceed in. Get into the stadium early to watch the different pregame events.

I went two years ago in Baltimore. It’s the best experience I’ve ever had at a game. Mostly due to being an Army Vet and Army breaking the streak, but everything about the game/gameday is amazing. You will not regret going.
Ive been to Rose Bowls, NCGs, Fiesta, Sugar, etc.. it’s the best.

I've been to Army/Navy in Baltimore. My group (led by a friend who went to Navy) still goes every year but inventory weekend at work has fricked me the past couple years.
Long story short, it is fricking awesome. Make sure you are in your seats for the flyover. The year I went the apaches hovered over the stadium for Army and then fighter jets came from the opposite direction for Navy. so fricking cool to watch. We were tailgating and lost track of time so we did not go in 3 hours in advance to watch the march in. I will see it next time I make it up though
The atmosphere of the game and the bars was great all weekend. I highly recommend the trip

Will probably have a tribute to Bush this weekend since he was a Navy Pilot. Last president to serve in combat

Got my tickets for this weekend, never have been but it has been at the top of my bucket list. Really looking forward to it.

I went last year in the snow and it was incredible. They cancelled a lot of pregame activities because of the weather.
I’m going again this year and can’t wait to see the March on and the fly overs.

I attended the game in Baltimore two years ago. Arrive early and be sure your phone is charged to take as many pics/videos as possible. The prisoner exchange is cool. Also, tv viewers have no idea how many videos are produced for game attendees on the stadium big screens and not for TV. They were really funny. Army beat Navy for the first time in a long time. Also, Trump was just elected and was in attendance.

I just rewatched 2017's game. The purest game of football left and a thing of beauty. Sure, there's no NFL prospects but
1. The players give their all. They're not worried about injuries or million dollar contracts.
2. The players play as a unit. Teams wait to end to celebrate...as a team. The lose as a team.
3. There's no trash talking, shenanigans. You're not going to see post play scuffle, cheap shots, players spinning the football after each first down.
4. Very discipline football. You're never going to see 10+ penalties. You probably see the refs 3 or 4 times.
5. Game is very fast. Should be done in less than 3 hours.

With any luck you'll see our beautiful Commander in Chief in person. This will easily be the highlight of your experience.

I am going to my 10th America's Game this year. I think the march on is worth while to watch, however it is so early before the game and then you are stuck.
I say watch it on tv next year and tailgate this year.
Like Neck said, make sure you are in there for the pre game festivities that are right before the game i.e. Navy and Army parachuters, Army and Navy fly over, exchange of prisoners.
