Basically your are saying it sucks because you're an Aggy and they are in the SEC now
Season falls off the cliff the 2nd week in Oct.
Can't recruit well
LSU fricking you every year is not as good as Texas
Got it.

1) Passion and pageantry. Fans are locals or alums and there is an innate connection to the institution. There is a different "vibe" at college events versus professional events.
That's the difference for me.

My favorite NFL team will never leave the Dallas area

i said the concept of the regular season meaning everything absolutely drives down the interest in the regular season if your school isnt winning that year. especially for schools like a&m who dont have a rival or any real game with another school with interesting recent history
if a&m is winning and the games are meaningful, then thats great. it makes it a lot more fun
if a&m isnt winning and has already been eliminated from playoff contention by the start of october, why should i be interested in watching us battle arkansas for the who gives a shite bowl in depressionville, mississippi?

quote:Why give the easy, obvious answers? You can't tell me that what the state Florida has contributed to college football is not something phenomenal. LSU's best defensive back in the schools history is from Florida. Ironically the best defensive back the state of Louisiana has ever produced went to Miami
When one of your reasons is "Florida", you know you're in over your head

You will and bitch that aTm has to play out of Texasor UCLA has to play in the cold.

Although I can sort of see how some people without any college connections have difficulty caring about it.
I know I'm in the minority on that one.

NFL fans have jobs, college fans have careers.

You stand around in a huge parking lot with a bunch of middle aged losers in jerseys, and it's usually cold. The FedEx Field scene is a bad scene imo. Landover sucks. It would be a lot better crowd if the stadium was smaller and in VA.
Then don't go to game anymore
The scene would be even better in dc
Cold? Leave the east coast
Men in jerseys? Lol you care what other men wear.

Biggest reason I enjoy college more than NFL is because I actually invested into Ohio State. It was a big part of my life and the best 4 year span of my life. It's still a huge part where family and friends get together every home game Saturday and have fun.
I also love that one loss can ruin an entire season. Puts you on edge every single game.
Oh and Goodell. frick that guy.

But what happens when you lose around the 4th game of the season. No more sitting on the edge of your seat. No more suspense. Hell, if you lose a second game you might not even make the conference title.
In the NFL you can still lose a few games. It holds your interest longer. The Saints at 9-4 with three games left is more interesting than any college team's season in which they have multiple losses.

College football is just more exciting overall... The NFL is A bland product.. NOW IF they were to make the field bigger in the NFL that would make it much more interesting........

Ohio State lost their second game of the season three years ago. Never thought a playoff appearance was realistic until after the Big Ten beat down on Wisconsin. Didn't really impact how I viewed the rest of the season at all.

and that happened because you didnt lose again
most teams in college football have two losses by the start of october and that means their season is pretty much over. yes, the way college football is set up makes it really fun if your school is good, but it also makes it really uninteresting if your school isnt

Exactly. Why even watch if your team isn't in a Power 5 conference?
What would happen if Ohio State just turned to shite and were 8-5/7-6 for the next 10 years? That's interesting? Never winning or even competing for a Natty is thrilling? I guess not but hot damn that tailgating still kicks the shite out of the NFL
