Index Cards, pimp walk, and laughter will commence.

I am glad the B1G let him out of his basketball commitment for this game.

Gene is one of the best. He is certainly deserving.

Gene is well deserving. For all his swag, and the fact that people hate some of the faces he makes and of course the index card situation... he is the best of the four divisional refs.

I know he is. I can not stand Hochuli or his regular crew. Ed is worse than Ed Hightower or Jerry Markbreit ever was in attention seeking.

He may be good at his job and graded out well by coaches, however, I think his crew is one of the worst for the NFL. He threw the second most amount of flags per game this year. Horrible to watch games he calls as a fan of actual football

Steratore's crew threw at least 20 flags in four games during the season and overall was tied with Torbert as the league's second-most active crew (17.1 per game).

He loves to be on TV. Probably told his wife that’s he’s going to be on TV whenever he’s the official ref for a game.

Like his father, after the NFL season, Steratore also referees NCAA Division I basketball games, primarily for the Big Ten conference.

At least he keeps his mid focused during the off season on his skill.. I always thought the NFL should mandate they either work full time for the NFL or supplement with College Basketball until the season is over and then role back to NFL

I'd be interested to see if this was an anomaly as it relates to the teams he had or par for the course.

Sterratore is OK, but Bill Vincovic is the best referee in the NFL. Rarely are inexplicable, terrible calls made and he's on top of everything going on in the game.

He was the ref in the famous Pats/Ravens "formation" playoff game in 2014 and he knew exactly what was legal and what wasn't and could be heard announcing who was eligible and who wasn't.

He was FAR more aware of things than Harbaugh that day.

He also doesn't get flag happy and ruin the game like Sterratore can.

It’s ridiculous that NFL aren’t just full time employees
