re: Gambler who won $1.2 million on Woods' victory: "I had never placed a bet in my life
Now they come out with a story that he has a history of domestic abuse. He is about to hate his 15 minutes of fame.

“James Adducci’s feel-good story isn’t entirely feel-good.

The 39-year-old Wisconsin daytrader who became a viral sensation after winning $1.2 million betting on Tiger Woods at the Masters has a checkered past that includes multiple domestic violence convictions, according to USA Today.”

Weeks before, he told his wife about wanting to place this wager, and though he faced a little opposition initially: "She said to me, 'I can't stop you from doing this, because if he wins, I'll never forgive myself.' She's a keeper."

aka i cant stop you because im tired of getting my arse beat

Yeah, that wouldn’t have been a good idea

“Adducci has pled guilty 12 times since 2006 and has spent 30 days in jail following a second OWI arrest in January 2015. His rap sheet includes four guilty pleas to misdemeanor domestic abuse, including two in June 2009. He was arrested on suspicion of domestic abuse three times, most recently in May of 2017, though charges were dismissed or changed to lower-level misdemeanors.”

This is a obviously made up story . Probably to cover up something illegal.

His response when asked by USA Today about the domestic violence and why they couldn't find record of his marriage

“Everyone and their brother can go online and look up anything they want, and I don’t give a (expletive),” Adducci said. “Obviously, I had $85,000 to place toward a bet. I have the ability to make $1.2 million. When was the last time you did that? If you want to get personal, who the hell are you to call me and think you have anything to ask me about anything?”

He's a day trader - this story sounds completely legit once you consider that fact.

What in the actual frick? Sounds like this dude paid some service to purge his record and he knows you cant find a lot of his info.

This is bizarre.

The biggest reason this story is clearly BS is because if true he would have most certainly hedged his bet or sold it for $300k which many reported it to be worth Saturday afternoon.

But I love the fact this guy is a POS and all in on his bogus story.

So what's the theory? That this dude bet on behalf of the mob or something?

Or on behalf of the betting service itself so they could potentially have a crazy story to lure in more suckers?

He has a mortgage, 2 car loans, and two student loans. He has a bachelor's in finance from 2002, and he has $85,000 to blow? Chances are, he's not using his own money, or he's inherited some money. He's a financial consultant. Could it be that he's illegally using someone else's money? I worked with someone that was doing financial consulting, and ran a ponzi scheme, and is doing some time in the Pen. Could Federal Prison be in his future? The way he responded seems like he's very insecure, like he has something to hide.
