James Harden is 8-for-15 (53%) on stepback 3s so far in the series.

Sometimes you just tip your cap.

I’m really hoping Harden delivers in the second round or this place is going to be a wasteland

He is kinda scaring me lately. It is almost like he has been possessed. Offense at a level the game has never seen.

I hope Harden can beat GOAT for your sake Boom.

It’s going to be mighty depressing if he never does shite in Houston in terms of competing for a championship.

I really think the development of his floater this season will be the key to him performing at a high level in the playoffs.

His game is getting lay-ups and hitting 3's.

In past years, he would drive all the way to the rim and either make it, miss it, or get fouled. If the team they were playing had a dominant rim protector who stayed at home on drives, Harden would challenge him.

And he was still pretty good at scoring in that situation, but if he wasn't getting foul calls he could struggle a bit in games and go cold.

I think his floater has totally changed the game. Now, he is virtually unstoppable when he beats his man. He doesn't have to get all the way to the rim. If the big stays home, he can hit the floater right over him.

So now he can get to the rim like always and score, or if the big steps up he can hit Capela for a lob dunk or a shooter for a 3 or if the big stays home he can hit the floater. And he can create his own shot from 3 with his step-back at a high rate.

And doesn't have to worry about whether he is getting the calls or not, because it doesn't matter.

I think the simple floater has totally opened up the game for Harden to make him unstoppable, even in the playoffs.

Boom wouldn’t care.

He’d just ignore it.

I am not a boohoo kinda sports fan. We win, great. When we lose oh well we will run it back next year. I rather watch CC lose to goat in 7 than sleepwalk over this jazz team any day. I like the competition itself more than any one squad.

And just to illustrate my point... so far in these 2 playoff games, Harden is averaging:

30.5 ppg, 10 assists, 10.5 reb, in only 33 minutes per game while only averaging 4 free throw attempts per game.

He isn't challenging Gobert at the rim like he might with other bigs, so he isn't getting fouled as much. But he's still able to score with the floater. He just shoots over him instead of challenging him.

I guess what I meant was Harden would take it to the rim and live with one of the 3 outcomes in the past. Now he has a 4th option, which is stopping short of taking it all the way to the rim and hitting a floater instead.

Oh I knew you were, I just wanted to clarify because that sentence did sound silly on it's own when I went back and read it.

You should write a stern letter to Adam Silver. Maybe he'll enforce your interpretation.

I think what he is doing in the playoffs so far shows how y’all severely overrate his regular season TS%.

He’s playing GREAT and his TS% is MUCH lower than his career regular season TS% average.

It’s a very small sample size, but so far my season long argument about Harden having an inflated TS% and it not properly reflecting how good he is is looking pretty strong.

Well he sure as hell isn’t a fan of running it back like you are.
