He does in Free Solo as well. He's almost autistic like in that he doesn't have an emotional connection to other humans. I think that was a product of his drive to free solo El Cap -- any emotional connection would cause him to have 2nd thoughts and did so on his first attempt. I think now that he's done it, he's softened. I saw he got engaged just yesterday on Christmas Day. What makes people like that tic is intriguing.
